Musicians???

Who here is a musician or vocalist?

Do you play guitar, bass, keys, drums, etc?

Are you a songwriter?

Is there anyone besides myself in the music industry in some form?

I used to be able to peck out a tune or two on the piano. I can also play the triangle thing, and a pretty mean tambourine.
Vocals? Well, I think that my voice is amazing... Like a velvet fog.
Unfortunately, most people don't seem to share that same viewpoint. I've even had people, very rudely, tell me to shut the eff up, while i am singing along to a song on the radio!
I'm positive that they must have something wrong with their hearing. It's like they are all tone deaf, or something like that.

Why do you ask Revvv?
Are you thinking of starting a band?
If so, I want to be the first to throw my hat in the ring for lead vocals.

Impressive Stray. You should be a world wide sensation followed by millions, and adored by women.

I'm really just curious to see who else here does anything musically.

I haven't been a part of a band in a long time. I miss it every now and then. At this point in my life I stare at a console and computer monitors. I have a studio and do music production and engineering.

From Oct to Jan I look for projects. Those are my slow months. I can normally be found pretending to be a DJ through the holidays.

I play the guitar and sing a little. I played A LOT of metal earlier on, but now I do more mellow stuff like jazz and blues. There are still so many instruments I want to learn but so little time.

I wish I could play piano. I'm not sure why, but it would broaden my musical ability a little more.

Trust me, you do not want to be a manager. That is nothing more than a babysitter. When people start asking me about management I refer them to the attorney I work with. Lol

I am a Blues and Jazz fan myself. Stevie Ray, Joe Bonnamassa, Keb Mo...

Then there is Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten...

I can list artists all day.

Ironically, I grew up playing metal and grunge. Today my main focus is Country. I do get to work with a bit of EDM/DubStep and Hip Hop from time to time.

I guess I am just a music lover.

My sister does guitar and piano... or did. Lol, when we move my parents are letting the movers take the Piano with us so my daughter will get lessons and I'll probably try to learn it too why not. Also getting my old circa 1992 (USA made) Ovation guitar back from my sister as well woot.

I were a drummer, the band asked me to play Wipe Out and then asked if I new the song Ina Gadda Da Vidda. That was my audition in 1978. I was actually playing in bars before I was old enough to drink (Drinking age was 18 then)
I also sang, then it was to many Cigarettes and arthritis moved in.
I can still play a pretty mean Air Guitar.

Siber, I am right there with you. I started playing guitar at 12. By 15 I was playing shows. By 16 I had my own band and did a lot of touring between high school football and classes.

Music and drinking became more interesting than sports after a while. College bars had a lot more to offer. I just wish I had been smart enough to see that I was making more mistakes than progress.

Long story short; I put down the music, the alcohol, cigarettes, and lifestyle. I got married, got college behind me, and started a "normal" adult life.

When I picked up my guitar to play again, I couldn't remember anything. I had to relearn most of what was second nature at one point. I played in a few bands, and then decided to pick up the bass after being awestruck watching Victor Wooten play.

I started doing session work as a bassist, and today I have a production company, studio, and work with artists that I would likely not meet otherwise.

I still play from time to time. I love a good jam session. I enjoy concerts. I still have fun when I get the opportunity to play on stage. However, most of my time is mixing and tracking.
