Damaged my rims NEW UPDATE!!! 2-17 PM

Oh hell I got screwed 20 minutes ago. On a junket to Walmart I was coming down a road that has no lights and alot of trees. it is 10:40pm. clipping along at about 45 I hit something so hard the front of the car goes in the air and the back does to as I hit whatever it is. I stop for a second to get my composure and drive back to where I hit tthe object. Laying crossways in the street is a concrete parking lot divider. I am pissed and drive to the service station about 1/4 muile away( car pulling to the right) I stop to take a look and both my left side rims are bent the back so bad the outer lip is cracked to one of the stars about 6 inches long but it is holding air dammit to hell!!!!!!!!

$500 DEDUCTABLE RIM COST 250 OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE damn damn !!!

Damn, well I don't know the area you are talking about, but a parking lot divider..., wouldn't someone be responsible for that? Maybe they can pay for the rims?

Sorry to hear about that Corey. It's always something.

OK I just went out with my big *** flash light. I only hit it with the outside edge of my rim both front and rear outer lips are cracked about 6 inches. The inside of the rims are OK. The A Arm looks fine NO contact marks. might be lucky and have only to buy 2 rims

It might not be a divider but it looked like one about 8 feet long and 4 to 5 inches high five sided concrete. I am assuming a Divider

No tire looks fine no creases or tears. I am pissed though. I dont know who to blame. I will talk to my Insurance agent he is a friend. Hell they probably either fell of a truck or I would hope that it was not intentional

if you decide to remount the tires be warned that they may have a higher chance of randomly blowing out on you. i'd recommend putting them in the back if they are the same size and not directional. also, have the guy put them in a tub to check for a leak.

Up here in New England, cars routinely damage rims by hitting potholes. The city has to pay to fix them.

Because the obstacle was in a public road, the town's insurance may be the one to pay for it, not yours. Once you turn it over to your insurance, you can bet they will go after the town.. So you may end up getting your deductible refunded.

Sounds like a few stupid @$$ teenagers put it there in the middle of the road as a practical joke or something.

I'm sorry to hear about the rims Corey... But at least you didn't loose control of the vehicle and loose it into one of those trees... I would be very sad if anything serrious were to happen to you and Brother Corey.
