Something strikes me as fishy about CDC.

Maybe the fact that they don't have a shop. Or that they never give legitimate names out.. It's always "sales rep" or "technician" or "CDC". Or that they say it takes them two weeks to order and modify the stock hinge, but will have yours in two days.

Edit: And the fact they have ONE car in their "gallery". ONE? I know they are new, but, if they are going to guarantee their hinges will fit on any car... Shouldn't they have tried to make more than one hinge? :

I do hope I'm wrong, though. $600 hinges are a lot better than $1900 from Decah.

Yeah i have the same feeling

i was asking myself of the pictures as well. People said they got emailed that pictures and installation video would be up on the website shortly...and its been 2 weeks already and all they did was increase the pricing.

He said that they just finished 2 mustangs...so why wouldn't they put pictures up asap?? thats what i wonder too

i tried to warn ppl not to buy until MY STUFF goes through, but ppl on 3.8 are being so stubborn. I just hope they don't get ripped off....if they do..i will be there to kick them while down LOL JK!!!

I sent them an email asking if I bought hinges from them, could I come by and have them installed for me for a price? I've never taken doors off before. I would rather not drop mine on the ground or something. Anyhow.

They told me I couldn't go to their shop. And that their technician could come see me ONLY if I lived in the Los Angeles area and that it would be around $800. ... That seems really weird. These guys should be door magicians. They should be able to take doors off in their sleep. $800?? And why would they want to come over to my house? Are they going to bring a jig over too to hold the door up? :

Yeah thats why I am telling people to hold off LOL

$800 to install? holy hell thats a lot, but I don't doubt that price. They better not bust out with, "here are your hinges, go install them yourself" i will break their face with their OWN hinges

on second thought i will just remake the hinges and sell them for 200 LOL

Yeah. $800 to install. To install a complete bolt-on hinge kit. No drilling required! No welding required! What takes $800? That is like $400/hr in labor. :

After that email I kind of lost interest.

LOL yeah I guess I would lose interest as well.

I am still wondering about that NO WELDING BOLT ON thing they keep saying, not sure if that is exactly POSSIBLE LOL

but if they do my car I will be able to see what they need to do. Hell if they think they are coming to my HOUSE to see my car, meet me in a ****ing park thanks. Who knows if they are local what will happen ya know?

What they told me was that: The part of the hinge that attaches to the car (the part where the bolt holes are) remains stock. They cut it after that and attach their own hinge to it. So that -sort of- makes sense... I still don't see how they can charge $800 to tighten a few bolts though.
And they said the gas strut goes "in the fender sort of"... I haven't looked closely between my door... But I don't think you can stick a strut in there. :

btw: my AIM is laser02stang, but it's telling me I'm "reconnecting too soon" when I load it. It does that a lot now that I have cable. :

lol of course you can put the strut there.....for all doors with these mods you need to put them, thats how they go up and stay up w/o using all your muscles lol

so do they cut a lot?

ps your AIM isn't up....it sucks LOL

But where? I mean.. Even if it fits.. It has to attach to something, right? With bolts. Bolts that need holes drilled I would imagine. The struts don't look like anything special.

I don't know how much they cut. On those hinges they show on the site... I don't see anything that rotates or pivots or would allow any kind of vertical movement.

The AIM thing might be because I'm behind a firewall with shared IPs. Or maybe AOL is just gay. No idea.

well not sure where, but you have to use it that i know for sure....should require bolts as well drilled into door. the hinges rotate, its the strut that lifts it

I tried again and it says you are not signed in... IM me then Emblemguy

That makes sense. Still don't get how no drilling is required, though. Maybe I'll send them another email.

That's what I meant. It won't let me sign on. It's giving me the "You have attempted to reconnect too soon" error when I try to sign on and won't actually load.

I'd be more worried if there was a strong wind.

What happens when the strut gets a little wear on it then.

What about in parking decks with like a 6 - 7' clearance. (How high do the doors raise to?)

Erick,

I just though of something... you know how you usually have stuffin your car when you go to shows and you keep your doors closed? To show off that mod, you wouldnt be able to store anything in your car at shows; since oyu have a system, you show off your trunk too. That would be something I would worry about.

Badges are small and easy to put in your pocket.
