The Stoner Plan

This is just crazy enough to possibly work, naturally it won't be given serious consideration.

I wish I knew how many legal Americans are here and if this were possible!! I am sure someone out there will explain to me how this is not possible but it sure sounded good to me when I first heard it

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America We Deserve It

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting
every man, woman and child.

So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 an up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be Tax free So let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in tax. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket A husband and wife has $595,000.00 What would you do with $297,500.00 or $595,000.00 in your pocket ??

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads

Put away money for college - Sweet !!!!

Save in a bank - create money to loan .

Buy a new car - create jobs

Invest in the market - capital drives growth

Pay for your medical insurance - health care improves

Enable Deadbeat Dads/Moms to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company
that are cutting back. And of course, for those ! serving in our Armed Forces. If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do
it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( 'vote buy' ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+! As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts.
Let American General Insurance go back to being American General Insurance. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work.' But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve Dividend more than the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC And remember, The Stoner plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. Ahhh...I feel so much better Time to go smoke a few bowls

Re: The Stoner Plan

Holy ****...I'm not even a stoner and that makes some good sense to me. Then again, it is sub noon, so I guess I am in a bit of a stoner state of mind.

Now, substitute in the grand scheme of things for $700 billion instead of the 85 billion. Sign me up.

Add to the benefits that the auto industry would pick up as well...for those without homes, and those that live where real estate isn't sky high...new vehicles would be purchased (edit, see this is already there, oh well). Also add in that if you are on welfare, accepting this check will cancel your benefits and you will need to obtain real employment. Look at the money that could rush into the economy and the tax burden that could be lessened.

Which would be fine, however accepting the check disqualifies you from receiving benefits later, so, you would go back to work eventually. In the mean time, someone that was unemployed has now filled your spot...unemployment rates would drop.

Not many would just up and quit their jobs though unless they were moving into a new position. 400k is not nearly enough to live on...

It would finish both my cobra and my 81 projects and put a 65-67 fast back project in the driveway of my new house.

Re: The Stoner Plan

Yeah, you don't know how bad I am jonesing for a 65-67 fast back now after the NY trip...that or a nice F100 pickup project...Or I might pick up the 1950 something Chevy 5 window pickup a lady at work here has for sale for 4k right now. Only problem with is is a few surface scratches in the paint and the fact that is has been sitting for about 5 years. It was fully restored in the late 80s or early 90s...so the interior is mint on it. Tax time might see that truck in my driveway.

Guys... stoners use really funny math. I know, I used to be one.

$700 billion / 200 million people = $3,500 per person (in not-so-high math)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA The original ammount was 85 billion... Thats even worse. It breaks down to $42.50, almost enough to take your wife out to dinner. Thanks Herbstang for getting all our hopes up with your incredible math skills...

Re: The Stoner Plan

it wont pass emissions or if you get pulled over they will want a carb number. and it doesnt have that. You can get a catted x pipe but bit sure if it will pass the sniffer.

Besides, Cali is Commie country. Basically, you will not find more strict emission laws anywhere else in the US.

Well I couldnt PM him because I didnt know his name.. all you said was thomas and some numbers.. besides, why does it matter?? Instead of flooding the boards with posts, i simply thought i could integrate my topic into another. (Not to mention this post isnt exactly the "please help me" type to where most people really dont care)

Re: The Stoner Plan

lol you can pm anyone, just click their name and go down to "send personal message"

if you want to be "legal" you can get a X-Pipe with Cats. you wont get hassled unless its incredibly stupid loud or you are doing something stupid enough to get pulled over. Passing the sniffer is another issue though, with a o/r midpipe and high-flow cats it may or may not pass; i had a bassani catted x-pipe and it failed almost worse than a car without cats, put the stock H pipe on there and it passed beautifully. So yeah, if you do it, keep your stock stuff.
