Re: Election Taxes

Mine showed less under Obama, too. They were both really close, though. Close enough that I wouldn't care about the difference. I just hope hat whoever gets elected works to cut spending and balance the budget.

Re: Election Taxes

Too bad Obama is never going to be able to deliver the tax cuts he is promising without putting the nation in WAY more debt than it is already in. You can't have your cake and eat it too, but that's exactly what he says he is going to do.

Not that McCain is any better...

Obama's Government: Tax, Spend, Grow. Wash, Rinse, Repeat

McCain's Government: Tax, Spend, Grow. Wash, Rinse, Repeat

What's the difference? Where's the change?

No, you got the Obama part right. But McCain is claiming that he will tax businesses less and people less. Obama will raise taxes on businesses while McCain is planning to cut taxes for everyone.

If you think that raising taxes on businesses is good for the American people, you are dead wrong. Where do you think the American people get their money? Businesses. The paycheck you get every week depends on some business making a profit (unless you are self employed). American businesses are already paying some of the highest tax percentages in the world. Good luck getting a raise for the next four years if your company can barely afford to operate because it is being overburdened by Obama's tax plan.

Of course, McCain's plan isn't really cutting taxes enough for anyone either. Another point is that in the end, it is up to Congress to make changes to taxes either way. The next president can propose tax cuts all day long, but it is up to Congress to approve/disapprove them.

Re: Election Taxes

and tax cuts are useless if they increase the deficit, leading to a weaker dollar due to more borrowing. (Which is exactly what Bush and the then Republican controlled Congress did.)
