lol thats funny that was posted. theres a red gs(non turbo slow *** version) with the primered grey blitz kit around my town now. ive seen it twice. makes me angry every time i see it. i just wanna kick the guys *** for defacing such a badass car. i mean, the kit is cool, just dont drive it unpainted, the only time it should be driven unpainted is from your house to the paint shop.

and i can take that little girl too, only from a roll though. shell take me from a launch.

Here's my favorite owned picture. This is what happens to stupid Iranians who decide to come out and play with the USN. Operation Praying Mantis, been there, done that, got the medals too.

That is an Iranian military post in the Perisan Gulf. The explosion is C4 blowing it apart and sinking it to the bottom of the gulf. That after 250 rounds from our 5" 54 caliber main guns, uncounted rounds of 20mm cannon fire from several Apache attack choppers, an assault by US Marines to eliminate any remaining resistance and recover any intelligence assets that might exist.

Then the Irainians got mad and sent out thier "navy" to take us out. 2 US destroyers, 2 US frigates, with air support from a US carrier out in the North Arabian Sea sank what navy they had. It was the biggest naval battle we had since WWII and no one knows anything about it.

You might ask what prompted this. Well a few days before this all occured the USS Roberts hit an Iranian mine in International waters and almost split in halft. Only the hard work and quick thinking of it's crew saved that ship. PRaying Mantis was our response.

Back in those days the Iranians used to harrass oil tankers going thru the Gulf as part of their war with Iraq (them b@stards again). Used to mine international waters and occasionally fire Silkworm (chinese) missles at the tankers. So the US started escorting oil tankers to protect them. The Iranians were hasseling any tanker in the Gulf regardless of where they were filling up at. We were escorting Kuwaiti tankers that were reflagged, no Iraqi ones, just to clear things up. At the time we had no real dealings with Iraq from our perspective, though I, personally, wished them well in killing all the Iranians they could. You see I remember the Iranian hostage crisis and the noodle spined president we had then.

Anyway, the reason that no one hears about Operation Praying Mantis is because shortly after it occured we rotated out of the Gulf, relieved by the USS Vincennes, who shortly there after shot down an Iranian airliner in the mistaken thought it was a hostile aircraft. Though I feel the Vincennes screwed up by not confirming the identity of the aircraft I understand why they did what they did, after all it was about one month after Praying Mantis and they were being harrassed, read shot at, by Iranian small boats. I'm not sure we wouldn't have done the same and we had more experience with the situation.

Steve

Pretty windy ain't I?

Nope, nothing classified about it, just not played up at all by the powers that be because of the Vincennes incident. We were still in transit home when that happened so no parades or anything for us, lol.

I didn't join up to be in any parades.

Oh well, my son in law is in Iraq right now fighting around Fallujah and such. I hope he fairs as well as I did, home in one piece and healthy, that is worth more than any parade.

Steve
