Exclamation forum: defined as....

a forum is a way for the public to express their opions or a way for the public to debate an issue...

there are some people that believe that a thread can be "high-jacked"...if your opinion is that...then you need to understand that this is
a forum...please note that it is open to the public to debate or discuse issues or opinions......

"jacking a thread" is not possible because it is a public arena...open to the public to express ideas and opinion.....

thankyou and I hope to get your opinions/ideas..... :burnout:

u can Hi-Jack a plane which is open to the public to use as well. But it is "not right to do" beause there are certain laws(rules) that restrict doing so.

Different Forums have different rules pertaining to "Hi-Jacking" of threads.

So that means that you can in fact "Hi-Jack" a thread

On this forum you can hi jack all the threads you want in Off Topic as it is Off Topic. But on the tech forums its a no no.

Well said Brent. I was curious about this subject too.

Even in the Off-Topic, where subjects typically go astray, it is generally just polite to stay on the original topic being discussed unless said topic is redirected by the thread's starter. It is certainly okay to add your 2 cents, but outright changing the subject for 2 or more pages alienates the thread-starter in his/her own thread. Going off-topic in threads happens all the time, and I don't think there are many people that have a problem with that, but if you are changing a subject for more than 1 page or so then that usually means you need to be starting your own thread. And, it goes without saying, if you are making hi-jacking threads a habit, then your posts are going to start getting deleted.

hi-jacking a plane....?

wow.... what an analogy...... :

thats way out there......somewhere.............. I don't know........

how can you compare this to hi-jacking a plane........

'well put'....what ever......

man, what an extrem example.....you must be great

at discussing politics.........I was looking for a intellectual response...

*make note in journal.....when discussing public forums, always compare them to "voilents acts against mankind"

I believe that Brent forks over the $$ for this site and can do with it as he pleases.. So although he welcomes the public to stop buy - is it really a public forum?

vdog, did you read my post? Even if Brent's analogy is a bit extreme, you cannot deny the rationality of my opinion.
