"before" testing about done

just a few more runs at the track and go for some 14.7's and i'll be through. i'm getting ancy about the supercharger, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. this is generally an update on my car as a whole.

car: 00 5spd v6

power mods:
4.10s *technically they do distort hp by a few less and tq by a few more*
cold air
ud pulley (25%)
gt exhaust
mac shorties

i want to have all of the basic bolt ons that customers will probably have before going for a supercharger. i believe the car to be at the right stage.

dyno:

178rwhp/201rwtq

not bad!

track:

race weight (w/ driver) 3,118lbs

2.05ish 60'
12.5@74mph
14.9@92mph

looking for 14.7's now that i can figure out my shift points with dynograph!

the m90 at 8psi on a stock motor should put out approximately 220rwhp/260rwtq from 1,400rpms+. while these numbers do seem low, keep in mind that the power will be available more than 1,000rpms less than the centrifugal superchargers. we've come under a lot of unneccessary criticism that our blower 'suck' because their peak numbers are so low. what many fail to realize is that centrifugals do not make full boost til 2,500-2,700rpms on GT's with S trims, and 3,000rpms on V6's. also, many underestimate or neglect to realize that tq is a lot more fun to have on a daily driver than top end horsepower. that being said, as the roots blower turns faster and faster, it produces a lot more heat and isn't as effecient as ideal. an intercooler to me is almost neccessary for a roots blower. personally, if i had a v6 and a supercharger kit would be my only mod, i'd spring for an intercooler, as air intake temps may very well be in the 200's... if there is a problem with it running too hot, we will see what can be done to cool it down. this is the first steps.

the non intercooled 8psi kits will start at (hopefully under, but don't quote me on that) approximately 1,800$ and will include everything needed.
