I would. There are too many stupid drivers on the road. They'd do the same thing to you. Probably worse.

Ruin their life? That's what insurance is for. If they can't afford insurance, they shouldn't be driving. If they want to drive anyway, they shouldn't be talking on the phone while eating a big mac while yelling at their kids in the back seat and doing their makeup.

**** happens. I had whiplash and went to the chiropractor once a week for like 2 years. I'm so sure the ***** that hit me really cared what I had to go through.

the thing is though, ive gone to the chiro at least once a month for the past 2 years. when i first started going(my senior year) my neck locked up, and she took a xray and said i have the neck of a 50 year old man. my neck looks like it had been compressed when i was really young(dropped on my head), and my body dealt with it until that point, then it locked up. so i have a history of neck suckage. so this is gonna suck worse. it hurts when i move it to extremes, but its just a little worse than it used to be.

Well if youre really hurt and need the medical help theres no reason not to collect that insurance money, however if you just collect it because you can and dont use that money for the medical bills and end up modding your car with it... its kind of defeats the purpose of insurance. What goes around comes around. You never know who you might hit and if that time comes and you get sued for X amount of money and cant afford it because your insurance wont cover it.. then your life can go downhill fast. Take this story for instance:

A guy in my house was driving back to KU a couple years ago after winter break and was sleeping in the back of some girls Jeep Liberty. Anyway, he had no seatbelt on and was just sleeping. Well on the interstate between here and Des Moines there really isn't much of a shoulder along the side of the road and this girl kinda drifted off the road, pulled back too hard and flipped the jeep numerous times. The guy sleeping in the back was throw out of the car through a window, and landed across the interstate in oncoming traffic. Luckily a trucker stopped and blocked the road so no one could run him over until an ambulance got there. Well the next memory the kid has from when he fell asleep was about three days later when he finally woke up in the hospital. The kid pretty much shattered his leg and had numerous other injuries. He still walks around with an inward limp and will for the rest of his life. This guys 20 years old. Well it goes on and he filed a couple lawsuits totaling around 290,000 dollars. There were a total of two lawsuits, the first one was he sued HIS insurance company because somehow his insurance undercovered him when they had a plan that should have met all financial requirements. This is a reason I understand for filing a lawsuit, however the second lawsuit was against the girl who was driving. He got about 160,000 dollars from this person that they had to pay. I dont care if it came out of her insurance or her pocket, but someones gotta pay for that added cost and I'm sure it comes at a price. That family may be in financial trouble for a LONG time because of that, and personally I wouldnt wish that on anyone. Also keep in mind, both the girl that was driving and another passenger that was sitting shotgun were wearing their seatbelts and they came out unharmed minus a few bumps and bruises. I can't understand how he won this lawsuit when he wasnt even wearing a belt. Oh well... just think about things, you don't want to put a person in a position where they're screwed because you "could get a lil extra".

Get your neck/back fixed.

A couple of years ago I got sandwiched between two semi's because the ******* int he semi behind me was fishing around on the floor for something and not looking at the road. Traffic stopped and he didn't, till my vehicle became his emergency stopping mechanism.

It took about 2 years of weekly visits to the chiropractor before I could play baseball or pick up my kids, or do normal stuff again.

All I wanted from his insurance company was my vehicle fixed and my injuries fixed. They dicked my around for a couple of weeks til I turned the vehicle repairs over to my ins. co, who offered to take care of everything including suing them, and a lawyer for my medical stuff.

I got maybe $2500 out of the deal as "compensation" for my injuries, which I never wanted till they tried to screw me over. All my medical and repair costs were paid by them too, which is all I wanted to begin with.

Moral is this, you will not magically get better and you will feel the pain forever if you don't take care of it now. Make her insurance pay to make you right again, that is what it is there for.

Steve
