ok, so Rob (purevenom) was right...

as some of you know i got a new toy...2006 CBR 1000RR, Muzzi exhaust, dynojet power commander, -1 front gear, k&n filters, custom tune...182 RWHP @10500rpm

kyle bought one tonight...

yeah... his has a few very minor scratches, looks like it was dropped at a low speed in grass but he got it for great money, its a 2006 CBR 600RR with 2600 miles on it and the only mods are an integrated rear tail light and a lowering spring, i drove it home for him and it drives great...looks brand new from about 10 ft away.

he dropped it the first 5 min he was on it LOL and it has a bad battery so when we jump started it he almost fell of of it because he didnt pull the clutch back in it launched at like 3K rpm and almost came out from under him.

nope...because most novice accidents are fatal, and im not interested in making bets on his life, bets have been made on mine and i have exceeded them...im doing everything possible to insure that kyle never hits the ground by teaching him how to ride.

Jarrod, you don't have to post that I was right, everyone pretty much knows that by default.

Yeah, but he'll be faster than Mikey again, so things will be right in the world again.

Re: ok, so Rob (purevenom) was right...

ive been riding this bike for a few weeks now and its not the first bike ive been on, ive spent some time on a 600 about 2 years ago. but by riding i mean almost 1000 miles a week and i am now taking the curves with the very expierienced riders...i pick up on things quick... he should be able to take rob..its a mid 11 sec bike and it doesent wheelie so he can control it...

I'm sure we'll find out once he gets some good seat time and feels comfortable letting it rip.

I ran a 600 from an 80 roll in my stock car. He didn't walk as hard as I figured.

Re: ok, so Rob (purevenom) was right...

A good rule of thumb is a 600 sport bike is equal to a 450-500hp car. And a 1000 sport bike is equal to a 900-1000hp car. Those numbers depend on the mods of the bike and the experience of both the rider and the driver.

he must not have down shifted, on a 600 you can leave in second at 80 mph, he might have just punched into it in 5th or 6th, i never downshift to race a car, i can usually just blow the doors off by rolling into the throttle.

Re: ok, so Rob (purevenom) was right...

Like I alluded to earlier, beating me doesn't matter. As long as it is quicker than mikey, all will be right in the world again.

Besides, by the time he gets used to the bike and is ready to race, I don't expect him to be able to beat me unless I miss a shift.

I have no intensions of being able to beat 1000+ cc bikes...if I did, I would but a GT and put a TT on it instead of trying to push a brick through the air.

idk when he will be "ready" to race it but i know hes gonna try before he is...

i dont expect you to beat a 1000cc bike, if you did i would just give it to you. but honestly from a roll, yall are pretty close with his 600

Yeah, I won't be making any attempt to race him for at least 6-8 months worth of solid seat time....
