maybe it's going to grow in size, invade your other knee, and then slowly invade and conquer the rest of you

Water on the knee

Your eyes constantly produce a little tear fluid to lubricate and clean the surface of the eye. Similarly the synovium tissues in your knee joint (or any joint) produce some synovial fluid to lubricate the joint surfaces and provide nourishment.

When your eye is irritated, it responds by producing too much of its fluid. It "tears". That is, it produces so much extra fluid that the excess fluid runs down your cheek. It does not matter what the cause of the irritation to your eye is, the result is the same. It could be an infection, a disease or just too much rubbing with your hand.

Similarly, when your knee is irritated, it responds by producing too much synovial fluid. Your knee "tears". So the synovial fluid fills the knee up. This is "water on the knee". Like in your eye, this just means your knee is irritated by something. Like in your eye, this something could be any of many different causes. Because many different conditions (arthritis, torn cartilage, loose floating body, synovitis, torn ligaments, instability, knee cap problems, etc., etc.,) can cause knee irritation and therefore result in "water on the knee", it is necessary to find out what the real cause of the problem before being able to give you advice about your condition. Water on the knee by itself is a symptom, not a diagnosis. Therefore, again, it is very important to get as correct a diagnosis as possible of what is wrong with the knee before one can decide the best thing to do with it.

Knee aspiration

Sometimes your orthopedist may draw the excess fluid out of your swollen knee. To do this a needle is inserted into the knee joint and the fluid drawn out. Frequently when this is done, the orthopedist will take advantage of having a needle already in the joint to inject some medicine into the knee that will speed up healing.

It is not useful to remove fluid from your knee everytime it fills up with fluid. If your eye is still irritated, wiping your tears off does not stop new tears from coming. They will continue coming until the irritation is stopped. So too with the knee. If the cause the knee swollen up is still present, removing the fluid only helps for a short period because more fluid will rapidly be produced. So the reasons to draw the fluid are either to help with the diagnosis or for your temporary comfort because the knee is so tense and uncomfortable.

I think it looks cool. Comparitively, your other knee is very girly.

i played hockey in 6th grade and i ended up hurting my knee somehow.
It was the size of a watermelon. They had to stick this BIG *** needle in it and suck out all this fluid.

It was the most unpleasent feeling ever d00d.

enjoy!

ive actually had my knee bigger than that, and it was all kinds of blacks/blues/purples

i was out on the trails, dirt jumping, forgot what i went to do, took a 4 foot fall at a decent speed right on my knee, next day i had to go to school, participate in gym, and everything with a leg i could hardly walk on, it hurt to bad to just sit there

i couldnt put pants on because they wouldnt get past my knee, so it was 30 something degree's, and im in shorts...god that sucked

Ouch

I blew my knee out 4 days before I graduated High School. I hade the great huge full leg length cast on so I was walking like I had a pole up my ***, and as I was going up the steps to get my diploma at graduation, I felt the step move when mr straight leg went down and all I was saying to me self is please dont fall lol. I had to wait like 2 weeks before the Dr. could do anything because the swelling was so bad.

Then my Dr. says, "welp, you would have been better off breaking your leg"..... go F'ing figure
