http://www.congress.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d108:H.R.163:

Is the actual text. Your link states the administration is trying to get it passed. The list of sponsor and co-sponsors reads right out of the list of leftist nutcases of Congress. I doubt the administration is behind passing this one at all. Fritz "KKK" Hollings is the only senate sponsor. Not exactly a favorite of the administration now is he?

congress.org is owned by Issue Dynamics, Inc http://idi.net/ which isn't exactly an unbiased and reliable source, search the listed "officers" of IDI. More lies and misdirection from the left. Accuse the opposition of doing what it is that the left is doing.

Next.

dont worry, theres not gonna be a draft. we dont need one anyways, theres enough people who sign on willing everyday that even if they stopped we have reserves and reserves for the reserves.

but i would not mind a draft. it would get my *** motivated and out of bed in the morning. sometimes i wish i wouldve joined the air force like i was gonna do out of high school and go top gun baby. instead i felt like sitting on my *** at my piddly **** job and accomplish nothing.

were already having this discussion on the DSMtuners.com forums. ite getting pretty heated but civil. basically people are saying theyll only draft if theres a WW3, which is likely to happen(johntitor.com for those who are open minded), and if youre not you can see the world is slowly tearing itself apart over this whole middle east thing. it is inevitable. but am i tripping? nope. if it happens, so be it. right before the draft id enlist in the army as a hummer repairs tech, that way, when i got done kicking ***, id get hired for GM making 50$ an hour fixing H2's all day long. just like my uncle is doing.

What a pile of crap. There will be no draft, they are having to delay enlist people now because they dont have the room at basic training. Typical wait for enlistees is about 4 months. How do you pass a bill secretly MUHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA. It would be immediately picked up by the media and the democrates. BS BS BS

There is a good reason for not bring back the draft, VIETNAM!!!! The military found out you do better with a volunteer army that a army of people who dont want to be there!!!

Wow, me too.

All I did was go to congress.GOV and did a search on HR 163, which is Charlie Rangel's bill to bring back the draft.

Steve

PS: Charlie is a Dem, so are most of the co-sponsors.

There wont be a draft so why keep this up. Who is wanting a draft. Whoever votes on a draft will be booted out of office at the next election cycle

The military does not want people that dont want to be there. It creates bad discipline problems and lack of cohesion within units

Like I said There is a delay of 4 to 6 months just to join any service because they cannot process people thru Basic and tech school fast enough.

If you believe their will be a draft you must also believe in the tooth fairy and the boogie man :hippy: :hammer: :baby: :cloud: :topicsuck

Everybody always cries about this and that, wanting to change this, now comes a chance for you all to do something about it and you shy away. "i dont want to do this""i'm scared". Personally I think you shouldnt be allowed to vote unless you serve, and like most countries service should be mandatory. We have to many enemies. I'm glad to see this.

But really that is why this country is different than every other country. All people have the right to or not to join. I am also not saying that if the need arises we might need to draft but this is definately not the time.

If and when we get into a global war that requires a draft for our very survival then and only then do we need a draft. I

I will also say it will happen when we will be fighting for our survival and way of life. We would b naive to think there wont be another Global war with rationing of gas, food, metal, rubber, electricity, water. It is inevitable. I am just hoping that when it does happen it is not a war with our own government!!!

This is true, but I really have a feeling that we are not to far away from that. Its better to be prepared. The roman empire fell because they became so civilized/free. Decreased military spending, free to do what they want with whores, free to be a pasifist.
http://killeenroos.com/1/Romefall.htm
We are on the same track that they were, if something doesnt change soon... Well I'm moving to isreal, theyve got some balls over there.

I wouldn't "join" the military because I have a cushy civilian job that pays more. But I'd rather be drafted and kill some of those mother****ers first rather than sit here and wait for them to drop a bio weapon on me.

They also have 5.5% inflation 6th worse in the developing world, no jobs jobless rate is 10.4 %. They rely on millions of dollars every year from the US to keep their economy afloat. They are the highest debtor nation to the US since WW1.

You also have to worry about terrorist every day at any public place. The fact is they have balls because they have the Big ol U.S of A to back their asses up. If we had not they would be nothing but a memory

My thoughts on the draft are this. If the country isn't worth enough to the citizen's for them to volunteer to serve it then fock it and let the b!tch die.

I for one am for the draft, but it would never work. All the people that didn't want to be in the military would just screw up enough to get kicked out, and then they'd say, " What, you're gonna kick me out?" that's what they wanted in the first place. I see it as a win/lose situation. I would take an educated guess saying that their would be a 40% kick-out rate of all those that got drafted. Mainly because their's too many liberal, ignorant based mines these days. The military spends about $20,000 training each person, and at a 40% kick-out rate, that comes up to alot of wasted training. Bottom line, it just wouldn't work enough to be logical.
