Seizing and selling someone's car for illegal dumping, prostitution, or streetracing is such bull****. Huge overreaction. And "maybe, soon, drunk driving".... That should have been the first program they started. I bet drunk driving kills 100x the number of people in LA that streetracing or some guy having sex for money does.

What happens when a Judge rules they are doing this illegally? Do the people get their cars back?

From our constitution:
the Fouth Amendment:

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

People should not be street racing, dealing drugs, and all that other stuff. I don't have a problem with them seizing property, but we have a constitution for a reason. they can't go around the 4th amendment just because it deters crime.
I'm sure a judge will tell them to stop pretty soon.

Police officers are not the loose, they are just doing what they are told. bureaucrats within the police dep are the loose. Police officers go out there every day knowing they might not come home. they risk their lifes to protect others. I admire that.

^

It is a violation of rights to steal someone's car for that.

As far as a judge outlawing it soon, they are in California...

If anyone truly gave a rats *** about stopping street racing, they would make drag strips more accessible to people.

Montgomery Al, had to close down it’s drag strip because people said it made to much noise and disturbed them. “Hello!, you knew it was there when you moved into the neighborhood!”

At any rate, the Mobile drag strip has actually steeped up to the plate and made an entire night just for street cars. So all the kids can come and drag race safely.

Make it available and people will take advantage of it. It has been a huge success here.

Confiscating cars, under certain circumstances, has been common in North Carolina, and in other states for a very long times, Drug Dealers caught selling drugs from their cars can have their cars confiscated and if they still owe money they will have to finish paying for them. Same with some repeat offender driving under the influence of alcohol, not sure about racing, if it were the case of repeat offenders I would not be surprized.
