the Colt 45 is fun, lotta kick to it. The Raging Bull shoots .45's, it's a big gun. I might go to the shooting range next week, I'll get to shoot all the good ones

i like .45's because they are a big enough caliber to stop anyone who is trying to attack you, but not a ungodly kick

.357's are fun too.

congratulations on your acceptance.

My friend's dad who just got out of the army (Iraq has changed him. a lot.) is certified for just about everything you can do in the army. I'm talking paratrooper, spec forces, mp, SWAT (dunno what they're called in the army) team, everything. He's a police officer in my city and is a sniper for their SWAT team. He has a bunch of guns and takes me and his son to the range occasionally. He let me shoot his sniper rifle! Surprisingly easy, but that thing was freakin heavy. His house is like an armory. Everything from glocks to shotguns to fully auto rifles to claymore mines.

Well u get to help people. u get mad benefits, pay is not bad, u will have job security, u will feel good about what u do....and most important of all: chicks dig uniforms.

I have tried 3 times with police depts and have not been hired. U see, here to be able to attend the academy u have to be sponsored by a police dept, which means they pay for it, which means they have to hire u first. I have passed the physical agility test, the CJBAT (criminal justice basic agility test) with a 97% and I have been succesfull with the initial interviews, but when it comes to the polygraph examination I get discualified for some reason, and the bad part I swear i am being completly honest. Oh well I'll keep on trying....

Good luck in the academy mineralgray.

there are lots of reasons not to pass a polygraph. Nervousness is the main one I think. It's also pretty easy to throw one so the results are useless, or so I've heard.

My dad got denied a promotion once based on polygraph results. I bet it sucks to fail one of those.

My thoughts exactly. The last time I applied I thought I was getting in and then they send me a letter telling me my aplication is being placed on "dormant" status 'caus they have so many applications and have people that are more qualified..It is hard here in Fl...Actually right now its hard to get a job around here on any field. I don't know how it is in your states but Florida is so packed jobs are scarce, even in Law Enforcement.
