Pimp my ride:

Does pimp my ride actually fix the car, or just paint it and slap eye candy on it.

I mean what good is a "good looking car" if the engine or accessories will just die in a week.

I mean come on some of those cars "1974 luv truck" must have like 200,000 miles on it.

Im sure there is a **** load wrong with it.

they did a mustang and redid the engine, they slap new engines in how it looks, the mustang engine was all beat and in the end everything looked new.

No, that girl used her college money to rebuild the 289.

But with alot of that, they cut corners. Like on the floorbards on that mustang, they used panels to just cover it up.

Basically, they just do tune ups and repaint the car and redo the interior and throw some scratch and dent subs in it.

scratch and dent? i wouldnt think the audiobahn 12's they used in the ranger are considered "scratch and dent".

id consider a scratch and dent sub this: you go to the audio store and look at the biggest, loudest sub they have. you SCRATCH your head, wondering if it will fit. then you DENT your wallet when you pay for it. that is scratch and dent.

both things are mostly either underbudgeted or monster-garage wannabes as they only paint the car, put a DVD/PS2 in it, and give it 18"+ chrome wheels reguardless of the car.

I hate that show. it's so freaking boring. and all I've seen them do is paint the car, give it rims and a sound system. I'v never seem them doing anything to the engines..I could be wrong 'caus I only watched stupid the show twice.

Id like to recorrect you on that MTV made WCC suck. WCC is by far one of the BEST custom shops around. Of course if you watch that crap that MTV produces our gona think that.

Have any of you guys seen the episode of Rides on TLC where WCC and 311 Kustoms were on it. That episode showed there true work and there lets not cut corners like PMR. and what they really are about.

All they have is a high SPL.

The bottom line is that you can't customize a car in under a week and it be worth anything.

Pimp My Ride :: 20hrs per car.
Overhaulin :: 100+hrs per car.

Just an estimate. At WCC, they do that on the side. They have people actually paying then to work on their cars.

Whereas, Chip Foose actually has a reputation.

based on what i saw on RIDES, they dont do much more than audio, paint, and rims. I'd put Boyd Coddington, Rad Rides, and lots of other shops over WCC. the best custom shop in my opinion, though, is your backyard, I love seeing a trick rod that no one touched but the owner and maybe some of his buddies.

Chip Foose is the man. Hands down. Overhaulin is pretty much the BEST customizing show out on TV right now

I think we all can agree on that

Side Note: Ever watch American HotRod - Boyd Coddington and his crew do nothing but the following a. **** simple things up b. use LOTS of short cuts and seemly half assing c. wouldnt ever let them do a hotrod for me oly cause of what they showed on tv is sometimes scary on how they do things. Foose = man

I saw the FastFoward Mustang in person. It was the sickest Mustang I have ever seen. No wires exposed in the engine except the battery cables and the ignition wires. All the focus was on the engine. The best thing was the runner tubes of the GT-40 manifold molded all together. The interior, hiden touches of carbon fiber. And the exterior scoops on the c-pillar shaved. Friggin' awesome.
