Just curious bout this...

im just now getting into cars....getting close to turning 16...and i was just curious, i read on www.musclecarclub.com that has an overlook on cars throughout the history of their making....that the 94-95 mustang cobras had 245 hp....but as i look at jeg's magazine i see that a 5.0L 302 V8 in there has 345 hp...same engine in the liters and cubic inches...but a dramatic increase in horsepower.....is that just that the jeg's engine is a better aftermarket version of the engine with better upgrades and better performance parts? or what exactly.......thx guys

is the 5.0 in jegs the gt-40 engine? that engine has a better cam, better heads, a better intake, lots of better upgrades

yea it is the gt-40, and just those better parts can create that big an increase in horsepower? thats a big jump..i'd like to save up and get a 94 mustang gt or cobra...but it'll take me awhile to save obviously being so young..but what would be the better upgrade an engine swap to the gt-40....or a supercharger?

my friends 90lx with afr 165 heads, comp cam, edlebrock intakes, no cats, and bolt ons is over 300rwhp so it doesnt take much, stock short block.

GT 40 heads were designed by the SVO team weren't they? or are they an aftermarket version?

I did see this engine, for all it included it seemed like an okay deal to me.. it was about 3k wasn't it? a crate motor from ford would be about 2..

yea it was bout 3 grand, with a crate engine u have to add heads and cams and stuff to that dont you? do u save money in the long run or what? as far as being made by SVO no clue

you can get a short block (no cam or heads, or intake, etc, etc) or a long block which is pretty much everything but induction
