R.I.P.My first car. What was all yours?

When I turned 16 I bought a 1986 T-bird with the 5.0 engine for only $650.
It was my first car, the body was ok some rust and the paint was faded on the hood. The car ran great and I had a lot of good times in it, taking it offroading, driving on the spare doughnut tire on many occasions totalling over a years time, taking it through a ditch I didnt see cuz of rain which broke the tie rod bolts, driving it without oil for the first 2 months I owned it, getting it stuck in sand and trying to pull it out with my buddy and ended up ripping the front bumper and grill off the car, numerous amounts of dents from me punching it and kicking it, blood on the arm rest from when I bashed my elbow and drove myself to the hospital, ghetto rigged the fuel line that went under the passenger side front tire when it rusted out and started leaking fuel, went through two gas tanks and one fuel pump, broke the radiator cooling line portion on the actual radiator to where coolant slowly leaked into the transmission and tranny fluid into the coolant system, never replaced the transmission and it ran great the whole time, had to replace the radiator after that incident, the exhaust rusted out and I just cut the muffler off and drove with no muffler at all, the exhaust came up the side of the car. I had also got it with 118,000 miles on it, and when I was done it had 198,000 miles and ran like it was only using 3 cylinders. I finally got a new car about a year ago and said good bye to my 1st car, I'll never forget how much fun I had and how much I beat the crap out of that car. I havent done that with my new car cuz its in nice shape. I do however have to say that the T-bird was one tough car and put up with all I dished out to it and highly recomend the 5.0 engine that was in it for lasting as long as it did with the minimal amount of care I provided. R.I.P. (I kept the grill from it as a souvenier) good times, good times.

88 cougar with the 3.8. Had tranny problems since the day I got it from my dad, blew a water pump and the hoses (at seperate times), busted a headlight when i slightly rearended a buddys bronco II. It was a cool first car tho, I acted liked I hated it, and didn't let any one know but I did love it, it had the most comfortable seats.. Took it off-road many times, ended up in a ditch, jumped railroad tracks and real violent intersections, and I could put the back end around a corner like no other, i still to this day regret getting rid of it when i got my Jeep, I only got 600 for it, and should have held onto it.

my first car is my 64, this thing is my baby, even if it is in primer, the interior is gutted, and the engine is ready to be yanked out.

First car was a '88 Nissan Pulsar, with the astounding 60 horse 1.6L motor, paired with the horrible 5 speed transmission = Living your life a 1/4 mile at a time, and for those 18 seconds or more... Im free

ah i still have my tbird. i love it but i need something i could make faster and better for cheap. and something a little more reliable for college. why i chose a dsm for reliability is beyond me but i still have the tbird as a backup. maybe after the dsm hits 12's ill be making major money and i will be able to do my cobra/vortech/6spd swap into her and then shell be my baby once again.

btw i gave her to my sis for her first car. she is into cars too and is a good driver(im teaching her at 14 lol). i told her all the smart kids will fear her 4.6 at school. even the ricers got scurred when they found out the tbirds had mustang engines in them. even though the tbird lost to a stock civic.

1980 Camaro Berlinetta, Red, T-tops, automatic transmission, V8---- was rearended. (lady was doing about 60 when she hit me) Totalled the car. Now I've got back and neck problems... sucks ***. Her insurance paid for my second car. 1981 Camaro Z-28, red, t-tops, manual transmission, V-8.

I had a 97 Mustang...

she was purty, laser red, V6, auto, no problems w/ the body, perfect as a 97 coulda been.

Then I traded her in for a telephone pole.

1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. 2 door, 3.1 L, 3 spd auto, puke green with peeling paint. All i can say bout her is damn she put up with stuff. Only got it stuck once, and that's because I had my 4 wheeler on a trailer behind me going through a field. I pulled the 4 wheeler off and pulled the car out, but not before overheating of course lol. Used plenty of super glue and hot glue on her. Actually, the fog lights were held on with nothing but hot glue, very stretchable, esp after driving through a ditch to avoid traffic...they pop right back into place lol. I traded her in on my stang when the transmission started slipping and the engine started missing...only had like 85g on her then. She had a rough life...and i didn't help any.

My first ride was a '92 f-150 4x4 with a 5.0. Duals with glasspacks and custom cold air. Fun truck but too ,many problems. Replaced the trans twice, oil pan gasket blew, radiator line blew, exhast manifold cracked in half. Power got really weak too. Sold it and got my stang a year ago. I do miss my truck though.

i had an 83 cougar i still have it its in a garage waiting for a 5.0 and 5speed swap.. its got the 3.8 and 3 speed.. but i put alot of money into it.. 3k in paint, duals with glasspacks catless. custom trunk and interior.. i love that car to death.
did all the work myself minus the paint.. i think thats a huge part of it.. when you put that much time and sweat and blood into something you cant just put a price to it..

76 caprice classic 2 door affectionately known as "big red" That car was a tank and in such good condition. It ran very well for what we payed for it and I drove it all through high school. My brother got it after I graduated and beat the hell out of it. It didn't last long after he got a hold of it.

my first was a 1998 taurus with the 145 hp engine, over the winter of 2002-2003 the car just sat in the drive way. well for what ever reason the trunk liner wore out and it filled up with water, it molded and the car reeked of ,mold. i drove it with the windows until 26 of july and then we traded it for the stang.

Me too. Starsky and Hutch. sAme engine too. Dropped 3 transmissions and blew a piston out of it during the course of it's life. Drove it into 2 ditches and one creek. Would not die. By the time i was done with it both front corner panels were different colors and the front windshield was cracked all to hell.
