R.I.P. Rick0636

One of our original members and former moderator rick0636 passed away on January 12, 2009 according to an email sent to a member here.

On behalf of the site I'd like to express my condolences to the family. Rick did a lot of good for this site while he was active and I know he made a lot of friends on here. I, myself, considered him a friend as he was very helpful to me with advice for my Mustang. Rick was also a retired Air Force Veteran. We appreciate the time that he put into serving this country.

R.I.P :patriot:

Re: R.I.P. Rick0636

I talked to Rick a ton when I had my v6, and even up until I had the GT. His sudden absence worried me because the last time it happened he totaled his GT.

RIP buddy.

I was saddened to hear this news. Is there any info on what happened? He was a good member, and some one that I was looking forward to meeting.

I didn't feel it appropriate to ask his brother how he died.

Re: R.I.P. Rick0636

I am just now finding out about this. I thank Brent for sending me a message. I had formed a good friendship with him but had not talked with him in a while. It really kills me that I am so out of touch due to my job and my divorce which I had my final hearing last Wednesday. I will miss Rick, he was a great person, a Patriot and friend.

Rick was a Diabetic. Some of you might remember when he wrecked his GT. He was driving and his sugar crashed and passed out, while exiting the interstate. Diabetic's risk of heart attack are 200% higher than Non-Diabetics. That is why I lost almost 100lbs and have kept it off with a strict diet and exercise.

good to hear. I, too, had a reasonable friendship with him. I was saddened when I got the e-mail from his brother. I couldn't find an obituary online for Rick, which may hold clues as to what happened.

Brian... maybe send an email in a non threatening way trying to figure out the details? I know its not really something a family would want to talk about, but I'm sure they've explained it more than once. A little closure would sure go a long way with most people here.

I will think about how to go about the wording during stats today (being that I'm NEVER thinking about stats... for the shear virtue that it is stats).

I think the family's need for peace is greater than our "need for closure". Just leave it be. It's not like it matters how he died.
