the hell with the 06. you cant mod a car that isnt out yet by photoshopping some rims and some kit on it. get the 03/04 when the 05's come out, the 99+ body styles will drop in price significantly.

Yeh...but if you look around, everyone is trying to ditch the 99 body style. If you can catch one of those after the new ones come out, they'll be dirt cheap

If you are really a fan of the new body style, then you won't be satisfied with an old style Cobra. Just my .02 worth, when the Cobra comes out if you really do want one, trade up to it. You can mod a GT to have more hp than a Cobra, and if you are into drag racing the GT is a better platform.

remember that the resale value on that cobra will be CRAP because its the old body style. so unless you plan on keeping it for atleast 6 years or so, i wouldnt get it. however, i would probably go the cobra route, just because im a speed lover

20005 does seem like a long time to wait... I'd say get the damn GT and mod it out. Slap a super or turbo on that puppy and BEAT the Cobra's with all the mods... Not only that, but think about the change in insurance between the two.... mommie and daddy won't be able to pay that for you after you graduate... GT is my vote. Sure, the Cobra's nice, but why not save yourself some cash and get a faster vehicle. Not only that, but you can get all the options you want, and modify it to be YOUR perfect car, and still be cheaper than going Cobra.

dude he would get a used cobra or a 05 gt they will be around the same price. and insurance will be pretty much the same. and he will have a faster car with the cobra and a better looking one too. and the cobra comes with stuff like irs and a blower.

let's see, insurance on a Cobra that's only 1 or 2 years older, and what, 140 more horsepower... would not be the same near me.... they would've jumped me over $2000 a year just going up an additional 70 to the GT. And that was for a GT two years older than my v-6. I know that's because of going from 6 to 8 cylinders, but they wouldn't know if you slapped a super/turbo under the hood, but they KNOW it has one if you get the Cobra, which doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't charge you for it. You get a 6 to look cool with the possibility to go fast. You get an 8 because you want to go fast and look good, and you get a Cobra because you're freaking insane about speed. They would know that... or assume it. I know IRS and all that, but I love the ride in my Mustang, and it doesn't have IRS... and your blower you were talking about.... you can get that for the GT... Not only that, but if he goes 2005 GT HE'S the first owner, which means no worries on condition or anything, it'll all be him. People don't buy that many cylinders to drive it like a grandma's luxery sedan... plus, I'd imagine he could get a decent deal on a 2005... depending on where he is. Ford sent me this $400 thing just because I own a Mustang, and I'd get $1500 (I think) for owning a Ford, the Ford Loyalty Discount ... just a few ideas

the 05 gt has 300 horses and the 03/04 cobra has 390 hp hmm do some research, thats not thats not a 140 hp increase. second d you think it will be so cheap to get an 05 gt there are already so many pre ordered and they wont hit lots for a long while they barely start production september 7 hmm today. to go from 6 to 8 cylynders does get you an increase in insurance but two eights one thats blown and one that isnt is not that much of a difference.

you can attack me all you want, I was using the numbers of the 99+ GTs, which is in the area of 260 hp. 260 to 390 is almost 140, I know it's 130, just guesstimated. And trust me, I looked into the price of a Cobra near me, and it's a large increase, at least with my company, over the GT. $2000 more for the GT and about another $1000 for the Cobra of similar year... 03-04 and 05 are similar years. You can attack me for saying that it would go up, I did the research when I was looking... I'm giving info from MY company. If it's different for your's, good job, you got a company that doesn't suck goat testicles. Our's happens to. I didn't know about the 300 hp thing because I've been kinda busy lately, and I figured someone would put up the numbers for me, if they did, I missed them. Instead of making up facts, I used what I knew. If that isn't good enough for you, then I'm sorry.

alright, don't believe me, don't believe me on this, don't believe me on the girl in the parking lot, just plain don't believe me, I don't care any more. I won't kiss *** for you to believe me. You don't live where I live, you don't live in a small *** town in Iowa that knows it's the only insurance company within 15 miles and that all the other companies laughed in my face when I asked about insurance rates for a v-8 Mustang/Trans Am for an 18 year old. They said I couldn't pay them enough to put full coverage on it. Not BS, cold hard truth. so basically 232, just believe what you wanna, and shut it. I know about my area, and about my company, and I posted that. You can call BS, liar, whatever you want, but you just simply don't know **** about my area, so you don't have a freggin' clue about anything in my area... You don't know about the 4 months of snow we get in a light winter, you don't know about the 110 degree heat we sometimes get in the summer, you don't know what it feels like to be surrounded by 8,000,000 acres of corn for 19 years of your life. (the 8 million is a slight exaggeration to show my point... don't want 232 calling BS on me again)... but I literally am surrounded by well over 8,000 acres of corn all except the small country road by my house, and our property to the highway.... notice in the back ground of almost all my pics, almost all you see is CORN. So you don't know what living in rural Iowa is all about, so why don't you just shut it and realize maybe it's not BS, maybe living where you are is kinda different. Rates are different where you are because not everyone is used to owning a 10 year old truck used for off roading and hauling loads of hay. Almost no farm kid here has a sports car that's worth anything... but you wouldn't know what that's like in LA. So why not just calm it down a bit with your calling of BS.

did i hurt your feelings its not my fault you live on a farm and hate your life. you need to calm down. all i was doing was correcting you about the numbers of hp on the stangs. also the insurance thing i still think its bs cause insurance rates here are also through the roof you think la is so cheap to live in it is so got damn expensive. and i know abot farm i used to live in mexico for a a year and i worked in a farm. but i was born here. i just lived ther for a year.

Take it easy fellas...

As for my opinion, check into the insurance quotes that your company has for those models and years. That should be the decision maker in your case since your in college and have other expenses. After all, mommy and daddy won't be paying your way much longer.

Personally, I'd go with the 05 GT. Its a new body style (well revisited) that most people haven't had the opportunity of seeing cruising the pavement. Hell, I doubt anyone in your town would have that car, atleast for awhile. I think the "fastback" design is so sleek and sexy and if I had the cash right now, I'd go out and get one myself. Unless you are planning on flat out racing and have a real need for the speed, the 05 GT should have enough power and speed to make your heart content. After all, not every car has 300hp and torque to match.

Just my $0.02

I owuld get a 04 cobra, then keep it forever, the 05's will have some kind of probs... but as for insurace, a V8 is a V8, no matter what kind of car, unless its a special kind of cobra like the one that changes colors then its a bit more, ..
