love my new rearend

i broke the stock rearend of my car about a month ago and had to pic one up from a place in town called mustang and camaro heaven...anyway i dont know what gears it has in it but they are alot of fun...my take off isnt the greatest(or worst) but today i was coming back from the shop in atlanta with my friend who was in his 04 cobra..anyway i decided to see what the car would do now with the new top end....we were side by side doing 155mph when we let off due to traffic...i still wasnt in overdrive yet and was only turning about 5000rpm...i am very pleased with the old v6 now...may not be killing on the track with the new gears(10.6@67 in the 1/8th) but it sure is alot of fun on the interstate.

Their's no way you were doing 155mph. Do you have a 150mph speedometer? And for you to do 155 in a 3.8, you'd need close to 400hp and you'd need your stock 2.73 gears. Maybe you were thinking you were doing 155?

he lied to you when he told you he was doing 155mph then.

Trust me, you didnt go 155 lol

Like 97Stallion said 400hp might get you to 155mph with enough room.

Ya, and if your friend that has the cobra was on it, he would have been up about a mile or 3 before you reached your top speed.

new rear end...bet the speedo wasn't re-calibrated. But, the cobra was doing 155....then they must have been at the point where the computer was telling them to chill out, unless they have been flashed to turn off the 155 govenor. Did they keep fading in and out or did everyone get off it once they hit the limiter the first time?

What kind of power are you putting to your wheels anyhow? Have you been to a dyno yet?

Right.

I might believe 155 kilometers an hour.

Miles per hour, nope.

And by the way what the hell would you 3.8 nancy's know about doing 155 anyways, you drive V6's for christ sake, get the hell outta here. My cobra's got more power than 2 of your cars put together. Maybe when you actually get a "real" mustang you can talk **** and doubt the man, but it's all true.

Um, these "3.8 nancys" are commenting about another "3.8 nancy" claiming he was doing 155 in a 3.8L V6 with no blower, juice, or other major mod. I think these "nancys" would know what another 3.8L would do.

And, before you start getting all hot headed...I also drive a "real" mustang and I claim :bs: on this one. Now, if somone can produce a dyno sheet that shows 350+ rwhp on this 3.8L mustang, then I am sure we will all say sure, he may have done 155. With basic mods and a rearend change, there is no way 3.8L "nancy" car is going to go 155 unless it is down a ski slop with Ivan providing the tail wind.

Finally, if that isn't enough for you...I will take my real mustang and run next to you both...and show you both what 155+ looks like.

Learn something about cars? The laws of physics will not allow a V6 to go 155 without serious mods. In order for him to go that fast, he would have to have comparable HP to you. Mustangs are not aerodynamic at all and it takes a lot of power to push it to speed. The cobra will get there because it has the power to get there. A V6 will not get there because it doesn't have the power to get there. That is just a plain and simple fact. Now, if the V6 was SC'ed, TC'ed, then I could see it possibly. But a NA V6 will not get there without a serious incline and a major tail wind.

By the way, where did this 155 run happen? Based on the original post, it took a while to get there, so to take a while to get to 155, you must have had miles of empty road before you hit traffic.

OH brother!!! Well lets see you started with 390 SC'd hp. Hmm and now you prolly got a little over 500hp. Your car is indeed fast, but not as fast as you think compared to some of us V6ers. I'll admit your car would beat mine, but not too horribly. There are many V6s around here these day that would give you a run for your money. Yeah you got a V8 and it SC'd, but I'm not far behind ya buddy with my V6 and I'm not SC'd yet. I discard your words as ignorance from a spoiled kid. When you have a clue about what V6's can do, then you shall be able to speak. But until then, you need to fill out this permission slip to say something. When, and only when I fill it out and give you permission, then maybe i'll listen to what you have to say.

Signed,
YOUR worst nightmare.

I didn't even think to check that, but that is a great point. I did find a steeda1982 with the exact sig and links over on SVTPerformance.com...I wonder if it is his friend and he stole the info from that site just to validify his claim...The only problem is that steeda1982 is in Stationed in Georgia, not in alabama.
