And Dom gets followed home by the cops...

Sat. night I was coming home from the drive in car show at the local Sonic.

Which by the way, 6 people just passed my car up, 5 turned their noses up when the knew it was a V6, and 2 left still not knowing what to thing.

So I'm going down the road to my house cruising at 35, the speed limit, with the neons on and I pass the one drive with a car sitting there, which I thought was a truck, without it's lights on. Thought it was wierd and kept going. Now the car is really following me. Still no headlights on.

My stereo is on, but you can only hear the trunk rattle with the bass hits real low. I'm in no violation of the sound law. So, I get ready to pull into my road and then into my driveway. Then I read on the side of the car, "Police Department".

Now I'm thinking, oh crap here it comes. I cut the neons off, then the headlights, and then the car. I look back in the rear view mirror and these two cops are giving me this "punk *** kid look" from the road. They turn their lights on, finally, and haul *** down the road.

ida done a burnout right on my driveway and flipped them off. they cant bust you for anything with cars if youre on youre property cause its owned by you and you can do whatever you want. and you can flip off a cop as long as youre not in a moving vehicle here.

I have a gravel driveway. Wouldn't be pretty.

yeah i think id be more scared of my dad if i did a burnout on the driveway then you with the cops following you.

i was washing my car once(tbird) and the whole driveway was wet and i backed the car out, took it around the block to get the extra water spots off, when i pulled back up i hit it and totally roasted them on the curb and he came out all yelling at me, until he noticed that there was water then he kinda just walked back inside. but that mustve been because the tbird was his, i chirp and burn them with the eclipse and he doesnt care. maybe hes getting old?

Fishers, it IS illegal for a cop to follow for more than 4 blocks (in iowa anyway, i suppose it could be different in other states) it qualifies as harrassment

and if driving with your headlights off at night isn't illegal, then i'm gonna protest a ticket i got 4 years ago :-p

the reason they followed you is because of the neons being on, in MD they cant be on if your driving but if your parked its all good. dunno bout ur state though.

hahaha, stupid pigs. I got followed for 12 miles on GRAVEL backroads by a cop one night with my dad.... 12 miles. My dad was laughing so hard he was in tears. I was in a truck.... no ''bad'' activities going on. And my dad was in the truck, so I wouldn't be speeding or anything like that. No loud music, nada. ****, if I would've known this, I'da kicked his *** . I was in Nebraska two weekends ago, and got followed for the better part of a full mile, no idea how many blocks it was, but yeah, almost a mile, then turned a corner, he followed me for another almost half mile, and then pulled me over finally when I went to turn into this neighborhood which isn't in his ''county'' any more. He said I pulled into the lane that wasn't the very closest to the turn lane.... hate to tell him, but that in itself was a turn lane, and I wasn't turning at that light. But yeah.

Fishers, driving w/o headlights on at night is illegal.

Here in AL, neons under the car are only ok on private property or parking lots.

I dunno about being followed being "harassment"

I'm sorta under the feeling that if you aren't doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about. But it is a cockass thing to do.

Back in upstate NY the cops would almost always pull people over for neon lights. You were always let off with a warning this time. But, no matter how man times you are pulled over, you always get the warning. Why? Well, because there is no law against having neon lights in NY. When you ask the officer for the actual number, he can't give you one. Well, that is because it doesn't exist. The cops just don't like them, so they pull you over and try to scare you to remove them or not use them. Boy, I love back woods small town cops that can't handle their authority...sure won't miss that.

As for being followed, once i bought the cobra I was followed everywhere in town. I would always pick up a cruiser within a mile from my house. After the first 3 times, I decided I would always take the most indirect, out of the way, as many turns as possible route to where ever I went. I even like to go 30 until right at the end 30 sign and just nail it and go from 30-55 as quick as possible, then back off and cruise at 55. It might not be so obvious that they were following me if they wouldn't go way out onto the side roads, but they do.

Ha..that always happens to me. I'll be driving down the road and cops will just follow me until they leave their jurisdiction. I was driving through campus the other day and it was wet, and I accidently spun em for a second making a left turn, this cop follows me all the way through campus, then follows me almost all the way back to my apartment, which is a good 8-10 miles from campus. O well, and I know here as long as you're parked, it doesn't matter what you have on your car, but the second you put it in drive or move any, they can pull you over lol. I have led's in my fog lights that can be any color, so when I park I cut them on blue just to piss the cops off. But yeh...cops suck most of the time...just mess with you to waste their time. (I say that because I have a cousin who's a Texas State Trooper, my uncle's a city cop, his son is a city cop, and another cousin who's a cop and they all admit to pulling ppl like me over for the hell of it)

Yeh kinda..but they can legally pull you over for doing 1 mph over the speed limit..so legally it's all good.

I've gotten pulled over in the county my gf lives in over half the time that I'm in it. Like if I'm there for say 3 days one weekend, and the next, for 3 days, FOR SURE, I'll get pulled over once. I got pulled over once because my tire touched the center line when I was turning.... eyeah. A cop nearer to me pulled me over one night because he ''wanted to make sure everything was ok".... it was 4 in the morning, and I hadn't seen a car for over an hour, I'm assuming he hadn't either, and was quite bored. He offered to escort me back to my dorm room and everything. I was about 2 miles out of town, and I told him I could see my room from there, and that I'd be ok, but if he was really that lonely, he could follow me. He didn't but yeah.
