Sometimes you just have to smile.

I signed the papers today to buy my first mustang, and so of course driving around town all I think about is which cars I can outrun, and what it would take to outrun the ones I can't.

Anyways a black convertable mustang pulled up beside me as I am driving home and gives it a little gas to pull ahead of me, of course I do the same to start outrunning him. As soon as his front tires are directly to my left I hear a wonderful roar as he pulls away from me and I see the GT emblem. Thankfully a stoplight stopped me from being owned too badly, but I had to smile and dream of when my mustang is the GT, or Cobra

a friend of mine test drove a 2004 Cobra this weekend, he loved it to death. He's looking into getting a 2003 used for 30

Shop around...there are a lot of 03's used for 24-28k. If he can hold out for a bit, there should be a ton of deals coming up on the remaining 04s that the dealers haven't/can't sell. Also, point him over to SVTPerformance.com and check out their version of the marketplace. A bunch of guys are dropping theirs so they can get a C6 vette...or whatever other lame excuse some of those guys have for trading/selling the greatest car to come along in a while.

EDIT: Some examples...even if they are not in state, it would be worth the extra couple hundred to have it delivered (I can give you the contact info for who I used to get mine down from NY), or a hell of a road trip.

03 Sonic Blue Coupe - 28k

03 Torch Red 10th Anniversary Vert - 31k
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...hreadid=129509

03 Mineral Grey Coupe with many mods (should be around 450 rwhp) - 26k negotiable

03 Sonic Blue Coupe with mods (418 rwhp before pulley and port) - 27.5k obo

There are more if you go through the list. So, this goes out to everyone really (This includes you StangGT804), if you are thinking about an 04-ish GT, check out the cobras you can pick up at a steal.

very very nice, the used cobras are always the better choice in my opinion. The engine should be nicely warmed with the super charger by then and it's so much more cheaper
