another prime example of "when it rains people cant drive for sh*t"

"Eyewitness News has the latest on the I-95 multiple vehicle crash yesterday.
The accidents happened along an eleven mile stretch of I-95 Between White Marsh and Aberdeen around 4:30 Saturday afternoon, during a fierce hail storm.
At this hour interstate 95 in both directions is open, and traffic is moving smoothly.
At least 92 vehicles were involved in 17 separate accidents.
State police tell Eyewitness News 50 people were injured. Four people were admitted to local hospitals.
They say the most serious injury appears to be a broken leg.
Thankfully there are no fatalities resulting from the crashes."

I mean cmon...17 different accidents and 92 cars?!?!

2 crashes on I-465 near I-70 take 2 lives

Star report
October 17, 2004

Two crashes at about the same time late Saturday on I-465 near I-70 on the Southwestside claimed the lives of two people and left at least two others injured, authorities said.

By 1 a.m. today, police continued to sort out details.

The first crash of several cars occurred shortly after 10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-465, just south of I-70, and led to one fatality.

Minutes later in the southbound lanes, just north of I-70, a semi and a pickup were among at least six vehicles involved in a crash.

The two crash scenes were about a mile apart, and the second accident may have been caused as motorists slowed to look at the multivehicle crash in the northbound lanes, police said.

Flames and smoke shot up from the wreckage at the second crash scene, leaving both trucks charred. This crash also led to one death, police said.

Traffic was shut down in both directions, causing backups of more than a mile, as emergency personnel searched for and treated the victims and doused the fire.

By midnight, only one northbound lane had reopened to traffic.

hey, that sounds like the drivers in san antonio.

i remember a couple months ago when i was heading south on 37 past the alamodome and it was raing so hard i could hardly see where i was going. i had it in 4 high, and i was only going 35 but i was still hydroplaning every 100 feet. minivans and suburbans were flying by going 60 or 70. i got further down the road, and i saw 3 wrecks in a couple mile stretch

i haven't been home or back yet without seeing a wreck. and it's about an hour drive. well, 30 min for me.

on a much more serious note, in my home town, a 21 year old who was drunk had an accident that killed his 30something year old brother. He initially begged bystanders not to call the police, saying, "I'm drunk, please don't call." Then he realized how bad condition his brother was in, and asked somebody to please call. they already had.

When the cops came, he begged them to give him their gun so he could shoot himself. Sad sad situation.
