i recently just bought my first mustang which is a 01 v6 (3.8L) im looking to doing mods. i thought about doing the 4.3L stroker motor from supersixmotorsports or doing a 4.6l or 5.0l engine swap and upgrading them. im just not sure which one i should do? i know they require a lot of time and money but this is a project and just would like to know what the best decision would b.

thanks in advance to everyone

if this is going to be your daily driver and has to be reliable I would really think about the hassle, cost, and time it takes to get it running and running good... it often times becomes a money pit and a never ending line of issues/money needed to fix it. It can get old QUICK.

Thanks for the input guys. This is not goin to my daily driver as i have a truck that i drive everyday i really bought this car as a project car. i would like to turn it into a sleeper/drag car and just would like to know the best way i should go about it..

Sleeper? Whew, this is going to be an expensive project now matter what you choose to do.....

Building a Six:
Forged Internals (4.2 is a good place to start)
Upgraded BRAKES / Suspension (Need to do this with a V8 swap anyway)
8.8" rear with 4.11's (Need to get an 8.8" for V8 anyway... get gears too)
O/R Exhaust with longtubes (Gonna need new exhaust for a V8 swap)
TUNER! (You'll want one for a V8 swap too right)
Windstar Upper (match ported to lower)
Ported Heads
Ported Lower Intake
CAM!
and finally
NITROUS! (sleepers don't want the whine of a supercharger or turbo, RIGHT?)

Swapping in a V8 is labor intensive and expensive considering all of the under-hood parts, computer harness crap, and assorted other suspension, exhaust, brake upgrades. You are going to duplicate many of the expenses regardless of which engine you use.

With a V8 you are NOT going to go to all of this work and expense to just toss in a junk yard engine, so building/buying a "worthy" V8 is gonna really add $$$$$$

Just my 2 cents... The built V6 is the route I would take.......
