Ford Limited Warranty (Powertrain, etc.) and my Rear end?

I have a 2007 Ford Mustang, V6 4.0l, 37,210 miles. At 36,002 miles (yes only TWO out of full warranty) I noticed a loud noise in the rear end. I had it checked out and my rear end is going out. Apparently a bearing or something got shredded up and now there are metal shards floating around in there (I saw the metal bits with my own eyes to verify this). Well it comes down to me needing a whole new rear end now.
Does Fords powertrain limited Warranty cover this part? I really dont know why they wouldn't but the dealer I called said it doesnt -- which sounds really fishy to me.
Can anyone elaborate on this for me please?

You could read your warranty. The warranty can not cover parts for the entire life of the car because there would be way to many parts and money going into your car from the dealer. Plus for every little thing wrong, if it is free, people would go to the dealer and have it fixed. This would be overwhelming and would put the dealers out of business.
You will have to buy new wheel bearings. I suggest purchasing them from http://mibearings.com and installing them yourself or taking them to a local shop.
