Few things. I've got an 02 GT with 65k on the odometer. As it sits, it has stock headers (i'm 90% sure) has the cats cut out, and a bassani catback. When i first bought it, i thought it sounded great. Now it annoys me while in the car. It's extremely loud, and it has what i'm pretty sure is described as a drone while cruising. Heres my question. I plan on having this car a good long while. I saw on AM, they have Kooks long tube headers, an X pipe with highflow cats, and a catback for like $1400 bucks. Is this a decent deal? And with longtubes, do you need to have the car tuned by a shop, or will a handheld tuner work? Also considering H pipe as i've heard it's less raspy, more muscle sounding. SECONDLY. The kid gave me a small tube, which used to house the Diablo Sport chip that is currently in the car. I have absolutely no information on this chip, or any way to find out exactly what kind it is? In the long term i'm looking to remove it, and just use a regular handheld tuner. But step one would be finding out how to remove it, or finding out what model (if it even has a model) it is, and getting directions on how to remove it. So if anyone knows the first step in identifying the chip, that would be fantastic. It came in a small red diablosport labeled tube. No model numbers or anything anywhere. Thanks guys.

I run an o/r H pipe and Flowmasters. They're pretty loud and I have a drone at 2k. If you spend 1400 on a new exhaust you're probably going to regret not using that money somewhere else on the car. The only way to quiet the car down and eliminate drone is to stick the power-robbing, catted factory exhaust back on. Everything else is still going to be loud (albeit different degrees of) and you'll get a drone.

Interesting. So highflow cats won't quite it down a bit? I figured that was the problem with it being ungodly loud. $1400 is a bit much, i'd have to see how much each piece was seperately, but i know the kooks long tubes are pretty expensive. I've got lots of time to save up for different mods, i want my first big purchase to be a real nice sounding exhaust. Not one that wakes the dead and sounds raspy, but a nice deep rumble.

Your car is always have a drone. I have bbk long tubes, bbk xpipe o/r and Mac catback. If your at a consistent rpm, mines 2k it drones out. Your not going to quiet it up much by doing the 1,400 deal. I'd definitely consider putting it into something with more use and going to like a factor cat with just a catback exhaust system.
