my stock setup has the egr on the outside of the throttle body spacer.. so when I purchase a gt40 upper and lower should it have the internal or external egr.. I currently am looking at an internal egr intake.. what would I do with the egr that was outside the spacer?

OMG i just realized Ive have my info backwards. Internal EGR for the GT40 = passages to mount EGR externally on TB spacer.
Their "External" EGR uses a line from the manifold.
BTW the explorer doesnt use the ACT sensor like the fox uses, which is located on the #5 runner on the lower intake. The spot is there on the explorer intake but not drilled/tapped. can do that or move it around by the TB but upstream.
I was told not to make a coolant return line to save 6-8hp.. what is your opinion on this?
