Brembo brakes and recaro seats

Hi everyone. New to this site and have a couple of questions. I am looking to purchase a 2013 Mustang GT with brembo brake package and recaro seat upgrade. My questions are where are the best places to purchase brake parts and are they difficult to replace? Also, I would like to get some decent seat covers to protect the seats. I work construction and would need to drive the mustang on occasion so don't want anything to get on the seats but don't need anything outlandish or pricey. Just basic covers. Thanks in advance!

1.) OEM parts are easiest purchased at the dealerships. Auto parts shops sometimes can't obtain them.

2.) Simple, cheap and not too outlandish seat covers? A blanket for a full sized bed or better yet maybe for a hobbit sized bed.

I concur. :thumb::D

You know I've signed up for a forum before to ask a question, but it was after googling my butt off & not finding the exact answer anywhere, except possibly a similar subjected thread. So I join the forum THEN continue in a thread of that same subject to ask my question, instead of jumping in to a crowd or people with a bullhorn and saying "Hey everyone look at me, and answer my silly question, I'm too lazy to look for an answer myself!"

Is it just me or are there a lot of newbs with their first post, asking ridiculously... "not smart"... questions? Like, where can I buy a tire that is good for my mustang. :banghead:

I think it comes from noone actually does any research themselves these days. They just post a question on their facebook wall. Hey who knows a good place for $20 BJ's, etc. And then waits for the entitled to answer from their friends.

Sorry completely off topic rant.

Back on topic... old sheets are awesome FREE seat covers. Or get fancy and go buy some zebra stripe sheets from Walmart for cheap.

Sorry to offend you c rizzle with my ignorance! Thought the best place to find out answers to questions I wasn't finding satisfactory answers to was a forum full of mustang enthusiasts who have possibly found good options along their journey. Oh, and I did google my butt off looking for the answers. Just looking for alternatives.

It's not that your post is offensive. It's just that for people who have over a one, two or three thousand posts have likely answered questions people like you have posted a 100 times.

We want to help but when someone comes in and asks a question that 10 of us just contributed to answering in a thread that's four threads down it becomes annoying. Not saying that your thread was the case of this here but...

crizzle is right that some questions just shouldn't be asked or you asked the question in the wrong way.

For instance, the question: I got stabbed and I'm bleeding so what should I do about it is not the same as Hey I got stabbed by a bobby pin in my shoulder and its bleeding but hasn't stopped in 10 mins of putting pressure on it.

Both are dumb questions but one will probably likely get blasted without remorse than the other.

The first is a supremely dumb question (you need a hospital), and the second is just a lazy ass question that can easily be googled.

Your question of where is the best place to buy brake parts and are they easy to replace is just showing that you didn't search or think about the question thoroughly.

There are only three types of places to buy brake parts: dealer, autoparts store, and online. If your question was more specific: hey anyone have experience with xyzautoparts.com and specifically abc brand pads. That's something we can gladly chime in on if we have experience.

Hell you didn't even specify what brake parts you need. Do we give you a list of 10 vendors for 30 different parts?

I want to help answer whatever question if I know it but if you ask me a question like: where's the best place to buy brake pads I'm likely to blast you with a remark like "shiit you want me to cook for you, feed you and wipe your ass too while I'm at it?"

You can get the Brembo's from Vorshlag cheaper than from Ford. Same thing as Ford's Brembo pack.

That's probably not a direct comparison. The package from Ford includes the 19" wheels, different upgraded suspension tuning and a strut tower brace. Based on Vorshlag's site these don't appear to be part of their package. You might be forced to change the wheels and that alone would take you over Ford's price for the option.

My read is that the potential owner is looking at ongoing maintenance and costs.

With that eye, the BBP is a cheap alternative. there's a lot more to it than just brakes so, the adding brakes later argument doesn't really hold water, unless you want to go at the suspension and wheels too, while yer at it, at least.

BBP pads are a 15 minute change up front, you don't even have to remove the calipers. hundreds of companies make them because they were standard on the GT500 from 07-12, as well as the BBP and Boss cars.

The back brakes are standard across all 11-14 GTs, with just different pads for BBP. Again, straightforward work if you've ever done rear discs on a car before. You do have to take those calipers off and rotate the piston back; standard rear disc stuff.

The Recaros are good but not if you are a bigger fella. The fabric ones have kind of cheap covering and a larger person will wrinkle, spindle and mutilate the covers pretty quick.

I have a 400a interior, leather, I still put a front face cover, bought at wally, to protect the front. I moved its elastic to the top and hung it from the headrest posts.

You might look at some digital fit hard floor pan covers like Weathertech makes. I live in Canada and winters are brutal on floormats and carpet.

Brembo pads can be replaced in in 10 minutes. I went with hawk pads. I run hp+ on the street and ht10 at the track. Brakes are easy to do on this car and fairly cheap. Did my whole car for $400. Changed myself. Thats Canadian prices, in the U.S the parts are soooo cheap
