Over the past few weeks I've been browsing thru the forums and seeing that a lot of people trying to get help with the V6's often get told to buy an 8. It intrigues me because, although the 8's may have raw power and pure sexiness...I think the 6's are right on the bumper of em! Especially the 11-12's!!! My 2012 V6 has like 10 less HP then the 2010 GT's and gets wayyyyy better gas mileage
My point is that I think the new 3.7L's have set standards as far the V6 muscle world goes, 305 horses (i know its not at the wheels lol) and still maintaining 31 mpg...I'll take that..

If your goal is mpg then yes the new V6 is the way to go!.. But don't knock the new 5.0!.. It's rated at like 24mpg which is what I get in my car and with about a 100hp more!.. Not to mention with far better track time and all!.. Lol
Mpg is a bit relative!... Meaning a lot of it just depends on power to weight ratio and aerodynamics!... Thats why the Z06 can get 30mpg!..
On the highway my Mustang gets better mpg than my wifes '05 GrandPrix!.. So long as I can keep my foot out of the gas!.. Lol.
Haha oh no way would I ever knock the 5.0! I was just saying people keep referring people seeking out ideas for V6's towards V8's. Both have their pros and cons..and I'm more appearance the track star, but that doesn't stop me from eating a lil turd with a blowout haircut in a 90's civic hatchback

I actually didn't think you were really knocking them!... Lol. I just was throwing that out there!... More power and performance in a car that is a bit bigger and heavier than mine!...
3.31 is a very mild gear.. My gt had 3.27s stock. Honestly I feel a gear swap isn't worth the cost unless you go at least 3.73 for NA applications, and at least 3.55 for FI applications.
Ya, kinda like the new Vince Vaughn and king of queens dudes movie "the dilemma" they mixed a muscle car and hybrid!
