A full exhaust system will change the whole way that car feels. It's kinda amazing when you drive it the first time converting to that. But everything helps with the bolt ons. But I noticed the most from the full exhaust. You could do exhaust, programmer, and gear and that is where it most pays off.
You won't have to build the motor with just bolt ons. Do everything possible for your car bolt on wise and do some massive tires and 4.10 gears and you can run 12s with experience and weight reduction. That's flying for just bolt ons. And it is possible with enough practice.

Well I think youll have to do just about everything to get into the 12s. Def full exhaust. I'm not sure what exactly you'll need cause I'm beyond the point of bolt ons.
All rough estimates.
Cai ~ 10hp
Tb and plenum ~ mayb15-20
Headers ~ 15
Midpips o/r ~ 10
Catback ~ mayb another 10
Lower intake ~ 15
Pulleys ~ 7-10
Driveshaft ~ lower mass, revs a little faster.
tune it all and you might see a grand total of 65-75hp. You can't just add all the numbers up to get hp...
Set of mild cams will get you anothed 25-35tops.
Bigger injectors and tuning can net you some more top end power. (10 but over a lot of rev range.)
Some heads could get up to a 40hp gain if the supportig mods are done.
Oh and a shifter goes a long ways towards faster times. Only other big time mod is the gears. My opinion. 3.55 for a car that sees highway lots, 3.73 for a city car, 4.10 for agressive pulls and 4.54 for a quarter car.
To put the power down better get wider tires, posi if you don't have one, and upper and lower control arms. Suspension all round can help but the rear control arms are cheap and make a big difference.
I have a 01bullitt whit couple bolt ons and it thouse feel whit more hp than when I had it stock, I started whit a cai, then off-road xpipe, then cat back , after that billet steel flyweel and stage 1 spec clutch, accel coils, bbk mass airflow sensor ,and diablosport predator 91 tune , after all that the car feels more powerful, am still trying to figuer out if the previuse owner added gears because my shifts are more quicker like if I had 410 I can ride on first or second slow because my rpm get up quicker and have to shich it to third at 27mph 2300, also it lock up really quick like if it had a posi , my traction light and button dont seen to be working sow I dont know if I have bigger gears but you should get atlease 355 to start, and remember more power sow you will need better motormounts and trainny mount, even thoe I have subframe connectors I brocke my torque box along on top of the top control arms sow just picture all the torque you be gaining after you add couple bolt ons,

I belive is alittle ligther sow less vibration and it thosent affect it since the crankshaft is internaly balance, but theres more grip maybe thats why my torque box control arms brocke off, whit the stock iron flyweel there was alot of clutch sliping since iron gets hotter quicker and steel cools faster
I can even start from second gear whit a little reving and you can see how theres more grip even thoe I know ill mess up my pressure plate like that, I try it whit another stang same clutch but iron flyweel and it strugle and just slip
I have full bolt ons minus a power adder, cams, and heads. I also have lt headers, catless x pipe, 3.73 gears, and aluminum ds. I had Delk Performance dyno tune it with a diablosport tuner and only got 255 RWHP. If I could do it all over again I would just get a supercharger and call it good.
I was trying to show a friend how to feather the clutch when He was learning to drive stick and took off from a dead stop in fifth gear in a dodge neon....not saying this is good on a clutch but I did not feel any slipping...and I too with a bone stock gt can spin a little taking off from second with the right rpms...

Its definately low. Till this day I still dont think they actually "dyno" tune it. But I did call a couple of more speed shops and told them my results and ask their opinion about it. They both said thats about the right hp with those bolt ons. Thats why I said just save up for a power adder.

Thats what I thought too. I've always wanted to get it re-tuned with another speed shop but i didnt want to spend an extra 300-400 bucks for a "possible" 10 hp. Or even worse, lose hp!
well just decide how you goin to need your car , for daily driving or smashing on every stopligth kind of driving waisting full tank in one day, if your goin for the daily then just get regular bolt ons (exaust,x-pipe,cat-back,cai,coils,tune-programmer,pulleys,trouttle,ect)but if your goin to be racing in every stop sign then go head and add some cams, colder plugs, nitros , and maybe go whit that procharger or paxton,
