Want to paint the 1-5 and the lines the color of my car... What is the best way to do this? I was thinking:

Tape off ball
Use blade to cut out the tape covering to b painted area...
Bake n oven for 30 min at 175 degrees

What do y'all think

I don't know if I have the skills to do it w/o tape... Will I need to bake it?
You shouldn't have to. If the groves are deep enough you won't need tape. You won't have to be real clean. Just paint the numbers and wipe the extra paint off. Just lightly wipe across the top of the groves. The pain will stay in the groves and everything else should come off.

Well as promised I went to the hardware store got paint and get ready and I find out my numbers aren't indented on the tops most of worn away, anyways

I painted, didn't really worry about making it perfect then wiped the excess away with an old credit card, paper towel will sink into the grooves but here's what I managed to do with the stock one
