I looking to purchase a CAI. And I have found that you can get a 3" intake and it doesn't require a tune. But if I buy bigger than 3" it will require a tune. Would a tune with the 3" make a difference even though it isn't required?

A tune is always helpful and can unlock a boost other things without having to buy other parts. Look on americanmuscle they have Cai and tuner combos for cheap. I prefer JLT

Yes. A tune without a cold air intake makes a difference. Tunes help to optimize the potential of your mods and keep your motor running fat and happy.

+1 on JLT. BBK works too.

American muscle has one on sale for $74.99. And the reviews are just as good as the ones that cost more money.
That will perform just as well as the others but if you want it to look good under the hood then get something different because it doesn't look that great. I have it on my 97 and I'm not a fan lol

Yeah. Take our word for it. JLT and BBK are great choices. I'm sure the others are great but those are just ones I prefer.

JLT over BBK IMO for sure! Not a fan of the chrome/metal piping. If it's just a street bruiser fine but it could potentially suffer from heat soak at the track. I used to run the DENSECHARGER fender well intake, don't know if they still make it but it was plastic like the JLT. It's a matter of personal preference really though. At the end of the day it's your car and your money. IMO I would go JLT though, sure it costs a little more but you have to pay to play! :)

Cheers!

The only thing about Jlt is on some of the 2v u have to modify your oil cap and you can't use a strut tower brace with it.
