Power goes to the tire with least resistance in a non posi rear end. I have not posi and sometimes in the rain ill spin the drivers tire instead of the passenger or sometimes both will hook up for a second it all depends on resistance. Lockers are definatly worth the money tho
yup as said both wheels get power but since there is no locker if you are trying to spin them the one that can spin easier spins while the other does not. Burnouts are not useful for anything to begin with but a tlok is useful for many other things other than wasting tires.
Got a question, is there anyone who maybe has a list of cars that the 8.8 rear end comes out of that will bolt up to ours. I'm going to start looking around for one. Also does anyone know what the 7.5 rear can handle horse and torque wise.

Ya slowstang is correct...the ranger/explorer rearends are offset so the entire rearend won't simply bolt in. Technically you could use the differential/center section of the rear if you already have an 8.8", but that point you'd need to get another driver's side axle shaft since the stock passenger side shaft from the ranger/explorer is too long to fit under your car.
By the time you do all that sh*t it'd be easier to pick up an 8.8 from a GT/Mach 1.
I believe the 7.5" rearends out of the rangers have the open differential like the stock v6 mustangs so they're pointless to get.
Try to get the rearend as cheap as you can since you'll most likely want to re-build the differential, step up the gears and get new bearings.
i have heard of many people using rebuild lockers from rangers. I'm not sure but I think lockers from mazda pick ups might work too because I heard that they use ford rear ends not sure how true this is
