Automatic overdrive

When running an 1/8 is it better to turn off the overdrive?

Ive got 3.73 gears, shorty bbk headers, offroad h-pipe, 2 chamber american thunder flowmasters, underdrive pulleys, svo upper and lower intake, crane rollers, cobra heads, msd ignition, aluminum fordracing driveshaft, bbk cai, bbk 65 mm throttlebody, hi-flow oil pan..
If running quater mile when its in 4th is it ok to hit the button and let it shift into overdrive?

Thats why i put LOL.. a total hypothesis... I would never street race... Btw... With the mods i listed, my car being a 95 convertible lowered 2 inches, and having 42,000 original miles... What r educated guesses of what my times would b on a 1/4 mile? Im running size 315's in the rear...

88 huh? Nice!! My last mustang was an 88 gt hatchback manual.. LOVED it!!! I sold ot to buy my wifes wedding ring.. That was 8 years ago.. Funny thing is my wife is the one who found my new mustang and told me to buy it!!! God i love her!!!

You never want to shift into OD while under full throttle.The OD gears/clutches are weak and it won't take but a few times doing that to damage them whether in a manual or auto trans car. :eek:
