Hey guys, put the mustang in the ditch bout a week ago and long story short i need knew rotors. Anyone hav a good step-by-step guide i could follow? I checked AM, but they didnt hav much. Thanks guys
pop off the wheel
remove the two bolts attaching the caliper to the caliper bracket (ziptie the caliper out of the way so it isn't hanging by the brake line)
then remove the two bolts holding the caliper bracket on
then you can just pop the rotor right off
when you go to re-install the front calipers you can use a C-clamp to compress the pistons back into the caliper to make it easy to slide the caliper back on
the backs require a little trick though, you must apply pressure to them while spinning them (clockwise i believe) to make them compress back in
Just to add, you might need a mallet or hammer to get the rotor off, they usually rust and get stuck quick well... lol. Just bang it around the exposed metal and it'll fall off!

And get some CRC Green brake parts cleaner that's Ford says to use green, I use the red. Paper towels, and a brush then brush the old crap out and clean up the piston (rear)/pistons( front) real good. Also lube the guide pens and make sure to smother and cover the position, and pads with hi temperature grease.
Also make sure you got some ventilation when the CRC gets applied it can make you a bit light headed otherwise.
So i changed pads and rotors on one side and the back side pad was worn to the metal and then i couldnt get the caliper on... Didnt occur to me that the piston was probaly seized. So i finally got the caliper on and drove it to the shop, while my brakes smoked the whole way. Now I need new calipers, another new rotor, and new pads on that side AGAIN. :banghead:
