Convertibles have a solid bulkhead behind the seat - can't "drop the seat" and reach in unfortunately.

Did the same thing on my car once (took off suit coat while talking on the cell phone, tossed it in the trunk and just as it latched closed remembered the keys were in the pocket!). The locksmith was able to make a key on site that opens the trunk but with no chip in it so it won't start the car. Just kept it in the center console after that.

my friend use to lock his keys in his car or trunk all the time...he eventually put a push button under the car you'd be hard pressed to find unless you knew it was there that would pop the trunk so he could bust into the car through the seats...though i know on a vert won't work the same

You can always go low-tech and get a magnetic hide-a-key box, and mount it up under the car. I had issues locking myself out of my 85 LX and kept one hidden just in case i lost my keys or locked myself out. Cheaper than a locksmith by far...and easier than calling someone to bring you a spare at 2am to the other side of town.

Call the Locksmith

So how long have you known that you DIDN'T have a set of spare keys? Well you can drive down to the dealer and have them make you a new set of keys.

OPPS, THAT'S RIGHT, YOU CAN'T DRIVE BECAUSE YOU LOCKED YOUR "ONLY" SET OF KEYS IN THE TRUNK.

:lmao:

Keep a key in your wallet.

If you can get a nice, thin key without a chunky fob on, it'll slide into your wallet like a card. In fact you can even buy a card with a key holder cutout designed for the wallet.
