Hey guys, I have been thinking of trading my car in because of lack of power. Which of this you think is the best choice.
Which if theese can I get more hp out if bolts on? Prons and cons
I'd go with the mach, better uhh tech¿ no development¿ yes that's the one, mach over 99/01 Cobras =[ sad I know but hey it is what it is,,,, plus the mach has better heads so no ticking, and better internals and slightly higher compression if I'm not mistaking
05-09 mustang gt are kinda the same boat as the 99-04 gts the power isn't there unless you go boost. The Mach 1 are great it's worth waiting for a good Mach or termi. You can boost all of them safely on stock motors.
I wonder what the 1/4 specs are for each one. Me and a local guy will be going head to head probably next month at the track. Mines a 99 with a few mods and his is a 04 mach with minor mods as well will post time slips
The mach is a hell of a platform. And lots of room to grow. You can do a mean n/a build up to 380HP ish by doing the heads or a 6-10lb blower for 390-450 hp safely. Or go all out and build the lower end and go nuts! Decent stock 3.55 gearing and that shaker never gets old.
Keep in mind that those numbers are with stock gears. The Mach's have 3.55 stock. What are the 99 Cobra's? That's probably why it showed as .7 slower than a manual Mach.
Yeah I'm a little suspect about the quarter time listed for the mach. That's pretty quick for stock. Intake tune 275 summer rubber I'm running 13.5 with a 2.1 60' and power shifts. But im over 5400' so i guess maybe 13 flat at sea level with a tail wind maybe. I don't see the stock all season 245 rubber doing better off the line.
It's true those numbers are good and right on the money.
There are two hidden variables here that are working together to achieve those numbers. Bear in mind these are numbers CD captured during the production year so there will be different test locations at different times of the year from year to year. In the past CD admits to changing out tires when necessary as an additional factor.
But the two variables working here are professional driver and rear factory gear ratio on the car that was tested, which is not listed.

The Mach 1 is what I would go with. The 05 GTs you can mod them and they get some good hp gains from a few mods. Also its a nice riding cruise car. Im more into just cruising than racing now I have a family so things change. Get the Mach its better to look at lol
