I believe u when I had my v6 I was beating my friends new camaro stock by a car length at the track an after he got a cai an full exhaust I couldn't beat him unless I ran spray or fi which I didn't have but most of the v6 camaros I see r all stock an I haven't seen a big aftermarket performance scene with them like the mustang so the chance of u running into a mustang killer are slim
They're really all looks untill you get to the srt8 which should be the rt cause that 5.7 isn't enough to get that car moving as quick as the stang an have a supercharged challenger as the srt
If u would put the 5.0 an 5.7 or 392 in the same car the 5.0 doesn't seem so badass it's just the fact that the mustang has the best power to weight ratio
I've raced a few v6 camaros (at the track of course) and I have Pypes mid muffler catback, Pypes shorty headers, SR throttle body spacer and accel super edis coil pack and I was running right on his tail....so I'd say if I had a CAI and tuner then id be dead even....add gears and a limited slip diff and I'm winning
Well I'm not lying to you, my front bumper was maybe 3 feet behind his back bumper so I'd say with tuner, CAI, gears, and limited slip diff...I'd be right with him
Either way if ur v6 is stacked an his isn't then u got it everytime my advice would be get full bolt ons an shave some weight an you should hold ur own
I have a 5.0 and I have driven the srt8 6.1 in the challenger. The mustang is faster for sure but that hemi is still no joke. It would be my second choice. I can't stand the new camaros though.
Yeah I'm not a fan of any of the gm muscle cars except the ws6 trans am ! They ruined the gto an the camaro is just another gm body that they threw a ls motor into .. Really nothing special
My friend has a turbo a4 Quattro which is chipped, a CAI, and high flow cats with pro performance Michelin tires and is also light. My throttle response is terrible so with a tune CAI and dual exhaust and gears it'll be a close one. I know the a4 isn't a v6 but him and I mob through Mulholland a lot and he kills me every time. Hp isn't important if you don't have the torque. V6's aren't track cars anyway! But I plan on makin my v6 a monster within these next few years. I love all these forums though you guys are great! Just giving my 2 cents
