It's full of coolant, not running hot or doing anything abnormal. The light is just kind of annoying. Anyway of clearing this myself? The only weird thing is after I take a long trip say if the car has been driven for a hour straight when I get out I can hear the cap sizzling. But nothing is leaking and the coolant is staying full. This is a 99 GT
Mine only comes on when the reservoir tank is low, the tank will be low and the radiator will be full on mine and the light will come on. I fill the tank above the cold line and the light goes off.. I don't know any other way to 'clear' the light.
Look inside of the reservoir. You should be able to see the sensor. It probably is covered in some type of slim/rust. Causing your coolant light to stay on. Try clean it out. Maybe able to get enough out to get it working right. If not you will need another reservoir.
Usually the float gets gunked up and doesnt float anymore. Clean the reservoir up and actuate the float up and down with a screw driver. Its a two wire connector so you can jump the two wires to turn the light off
That was the problem I drained the tank and moved the float around with a screw driver and the light is now off.. Thank all of y'all for the help hopefully I won't run into anymore problems for a while
The light came back on lol I guess the float is broke.. Looks like ill be buying a new over flow tank
