Just wanted people's thoughts on what they think is better? Live axle a thing of the past? Ever consider a swap? Ups and downs?

Well I'm not exactly sure where you would find an IRS for an S197 but I sure like it in my GT. It would be interesting to see one in an S197 though. I know I don't wanna go back to SRA especially because I like to track my car.

Yeah the 1999 SVT had and IRS, ever wonder what the reason was for "switching" back? I would say that all together Live Axle is the way to go with mustangs. Besides I would figure that they might have switched to IRS more recently if Ford thought it was better for the car. Even the new Shelbys are that way. Though I have heard the 99 SVT had wheel hop issues, I can't confirm that info.

All the new edge Cobras besides the '00 have an IRS in it. Wheel hop is a pretty major issue but there are companies that make aftermarket bushing kits that help reduce it. IRS is pretty nice but the Cobra setup isn't all that great because Ford asked the engineers to cobble something together instead not designing a chassis intended for IRS. I personally love the IRS because it handles great and rides smooth, but I may be biased because I don't care so much about drag racing.

Glad you ditched yours for what reasons? Didn't like the feel? Issues?
The design just doesn't work. It takea $2000-$3000 to get parts to make it work correctly. After replacing two half shafts and resealing the diff three times I moved on.

It did? Hmm for some reason I thought they kept the SRA for it
Nope. Irs

On Corvette forums I came across today for a different reason, there were many threads talking about how easy they break on slicks.

As for straight line acceleration, SRA is fantastic and allows for the most 1/4 friendly mods, such as wider tires etc.

The 3 link is with a panhard only. When you use either a panhard or watts link you can remove one of the uppers, but when you add a torque arm you remove both the uppers. I don't know what to think about a 3 link, seems a little sketchy to me.
