For all that money I would look into getting a good set of aftermarket heads. They will bring you more power for your money and make any future bolt ons give you even more power. I recommend TFS Twisted Wedge heads to all 5.0 owners as they are emissions leagle and with porting from fox lake can support up to 1400hp should you ever want your power levels to grow that high. These heads respond better to porting and boost than any other and are cheap in comparison to some. They work well with single profile camshafts due to their 65% exhuast output and will work very well with your stock cam.

The 65mm tb can fit on a stock manifold if you dremmel tool the opening on the manifold. Take my advice and get a set of heads even if they are the cheapest you can find rather than buying a whole bunch of cheap little parts that may or may not give you power. If they dont give you any noticable power you will just be wasting money.

However if you really want small bolt ons the best way for you to make power on a budget will be with a x pipe, under drive pulleys, electric engine fan and an aluminum driveshaft. These 4 parts I have listed will give you noticable power gains every time reguardless of brand selection and part quality. I do recommend the BBK xpipe as BBK exhuast parts fit right the first time every time I have used them. Also remove the intake silencer and replace your paper air filter with a K&N filter but keep the intake box and dont throw out the silencer, this increases your cars value.

Dont expect any power gains from a cold air intake over a K&N filter in the factory box unless you use a C&L or JLT CAI system. The shortie headers and TB wont net you any stackable power since your doing a CAI/Filter and Xpipe, this is because your still running stock HCI. Your car is too close to stock for a tune and the parts I listed dont require a tune. Dont be scared to install a driveshaft, they take less time to put in than a cold air intake. Leave the TB alone you arnt going to get enough air into that stock intake manifold to build extra power so just leave it alone, also should you not listen to me and install the bigger T/B you will most likely lose throttle responce which is like losing power and still not gain any power. Also should you still want to replace your stock mufflers a MAC pro dump system will give you the power your are looking for as well as improve performance by reducing weight.

I hope you take my advice. Should you need any future advice on which part to change next or need advice on part selection as far as brand I have been apart of the mustang crowd for 14 years now and after having 6 mustangs I know how to make power on a budget. If you would like to private message me with an exact dollar amount of how much you have or want to spend I can maximize your power.

NOTE: Rather than buy a JLT or C&L CAI for about the same money a Professional Products Intake manifold would definatly make you more power and then you could upgrade your T/B and get a Tune like you wanted although it is not required.

See I have a ford racing cobra manifold for it that I got from a friend I already have a smog pump eliminator a k&n drop in filter removed the air silencer and bumped the timing I'm also going to throw a msd distributor ford racing wires ngk plugs and msd coil

Better sound is a matter of opinion but the MAC pro dumps will cut weight improving your performance as they are a smaller exhuast system. But if your maximizing your power per dollar why not leave the cherry bombs and spend money elsewhere, they are a high quality brand part.

Midnightblue I dont know where you learned how to mod but your smoking crack about the T/B giving 10hp on a next to stock 5.0 motor that doesnt have aftermarket heads or intake manifold. The 30 horsepower on a stock engine by way exhuast is acheivable on the 5.0 but long tube headers will be required which is more coin and they will reduce low end torque making their purchase a waste of time and money on a stock engine when the money can be spent on somthing else. The 40-50 HP for his current list of mods is not only wrong its a pipe dream.

2010gt500 you really need to private message me and give me an exact dollar amount you want to spend and with a list of mods the car currently has. I will work with you to maximize your power and I dont steer people wrong.

I literally right now just installed a 65mm tb with the cobra intake manifold that my friend gave me on the stock airbox I just need the Cai headers and X-pipe and I want to put a one piece driveshaft in also the car is an automatic so with a chip I should be able to firm up shifts

I recommend the JLT CAI intake to maximize the GT40/Cobra/Explorer intakes ability. Still at this point a tune would be a waste of money but you can still improve power output by advancing the timing on your engine. Since you are auto keep the cherry bomb axle back and go ahead and upgrade to 1 5/8 long tube headers with x pipe to maximize your power. Since you now have the cobra intake and are running an auto car the long tubes become benificial.

You've got me shooting in the dark though. What are the exact list of mods your car has and what is the remainder of money you have to spend? I will try and get you over 300RWHP if I can.

It litteraly just hit me that next year your car will be 25 years old. This means you need to look at what month your car was manufactured on the inside of your driver door. When that month comes or if it has already passed you need to go and get your last emissions controled inspection sticker when the car hits 24 years old. Once the car is 25 years old you will no longer be required to have cattalitic converters or a smog pump to pass emissions which drain power. So once you have your last inspection sticker before the car turns 25 years old you can get a smog pump delete kit and a offroad x pipe to make you a good bit more power and save you some coin on buying an aftermarket x pipe since you wont need a catalitic converter.
