Hey guys,

So I was just passing this guy on the highway and I floored the pedal. After I passed him I let go and a couple of seconds later my temperature gauge shot way up (close to red). After that it went to its normal mid position again a second later. Is this normal or should I get my car checked?

Not a certified Machanic. But when you do floor it your temp will go up. Not into red though unless you where over pushing your rpm and you blew something. But it is normal for your temp to go up just not clear into red. You running All stock? I blew hoses onetime like that in a different car once. But if everything's running normal. You most likely just over temped your engine and the thermostat just opened late. Get it normally tuned up just to make sure. And have your cooling system checked just to rule out a sticky thermostat... That's what I would do if I was concerned. Like I said I do my own work on mine so it's on a situation basis. Good luck

I think your ok then. Temp goes up when you floor it. Mine does. It's just hi temp from all the piston fire then the thermostat opens and it goes right back down to norm. Your good. A check never hurts to keep our stangs right...
