Is taking the Rpms to 6-7K on a daily basis neccesarly bad for the engine ?
I don't rag on my car but when I need to get up and go ill take it to around 6,200-6,500 ..
I've heard some comments about the oil pump gears going bad ..
Beating on your car that often isn't good for it, that's for sure. I also doubt it's going to grenade because of it. The 4v's are safer at higher RPMs, but I usually save anything above 4500 or so for drag racing. If you need to hit over 6k just to get into traffic or something, you're driving like a crazy person.
I wonder the same, I take mine daily to about 4k-4.5k rpm, Never really hit the rev limiter until I got a bit more comfortable with the car about a month or 2 ago, now I find myself hitting the rev limiter about once/twice a week..2v here tho
The factory tune has really mild timing and a rich A/F radio at WOT and high load so you can beat the crap out of your car without really beating out very much crap.
It just really depends how strong your motor is. Maintenance it right, it'll treat you good.
