I know its been discussed to death but I was planning to go 3.73 but now I'm considering 4.10 because top end rpm is not all that different than 3.73s according to AMs gear chart. Anyone who has done either set up have any input?
I have 4.10s with a 5 speed, I like it for the most part but if I had a more powerful engine I would switch to 3.55's the 4.10s arent great on the highway due to higher revs and theyre mostly good in the city but it cause a bit of 'jerkiness' unless you're paying attention.

If you have a auto or a v6 go with the 4.10's if you have a manual go with either 3.55's
What other mods do you have? Manual people still do 4.10's and love them. Occasionally some people complain that its jerky, usually those who are stock with 4.10's
Look, I'm not trying to steer you away from the 4.10s, when I'm coming to a light in 2nd gear and it turns green or when I get on the highway, those are they only times I can really go full throttle otherwise I get wheelhop or I just spin my tires, I have 7in wheels all around on a fox platform, foxbody. I like the acceleration factor a lot I just might go with a less steep ratio if a genie asked me...
Our first gear ratio is super short (4.23) shorter than all these others guys transmissions. Putting 4.10s would make 1st almost useless. 3.55s or 3.73s are what you should go with. For daily street driving. There won't be much of a difference.
I love my 3.73's but if Ford Racing had made 3.90 gears, i would have gone with them
