Well it's almost official. I'm taking the v6 down A dealership today and trading her for a 2010 gt. super excited!! Hope I can end up doing it red is my car, white is the gt
Yea... It is the 4.0. Damn, I thought the 3.7 started in 2010 but it wasn't until 2011. I learn something new everyday.
That being said, I would trade for at he very least a 2011+ v6 or 5.0. You probably won't see any difference in price between the 3.7 and a pre 2010 v8.
Private sale is always the way to go, if you have the patience. Spend a few hours making a good craigslist ad and maybe let your social networks know too. Good luck.
It's tough man. I graduated in 2011 and drove the Jeep all through high school and college. When I landed my first job in my career last year, I rewarded myself with the Mustang I have today. I still had to be financially smart due to different factors and that's why I went with the 3.7. My point is, don't rush it and enjoy what you have at the moment. I assume you're young and want everything right now and trust me, I know that feeling. But as hard as it is, wait. Wait till you can prioritize and make the correct financial decision when factoring in every variable. (Trust me, a 30 rack of PBR is going to be like gold to you in a few short months.)
After our wedding in May of 2014, I plan on trading the 3.7 in for a RS3 5.0 when I can afford and justify the upgrade. Good things come to people who wait for the right moment and work hard for their belongings. :thumb:
You are making the right decision waiting to be able to afford it. I traded in my 06 GT for the 3.7 to help with finances. Well, things turned around. Tomorrow I will purchase a house 100% cash. I will pay all debts including cars at the end of the month. Will I keep the 3.7 or trade it on a 2013 or 14 special Mustang? I love this 3.7 and it is a fun car and drives much better than the 05/09 imo. Just miss the 8 cylinder roar...
To be honest, this generation v6 with the 3.7 is fantastic if you want to mod and race. If I were you, (considering you said price keeps you looking at the 2010 GT). I would get a 2011 V6 and skip the GT all together. I bet a 2011 V6 with a tune alone, would beat the 2010 GT. I hate to say it but I think 2010 was a bad release year for mustangs. I wept when a friend of mine told me he was getting a 2010 v6 (2 months away from the release of the 2011's) 2 months!
