Paint chips are driving me nuts. Anyone have experience with or have used a clear nose protector? And if so, do you think I can use touch up paint then apply the clear over it?
I just saw a commercial for a spray on clear bra, but I have no experience with either. I have friends with clear bras and they swear by them, but you can see the from the right angles.
A local Nissan dealer here where I live puts a invisible bra from the bottom of the bumper to the top of the hood. Scratches that seem like they are in the paint, are in the film. You can peel it off and the car will still look brand new, and they will redo it for a fee.
I have a 3M clear car bra on my car. I installed it myself also! All I can say about it is that doing the front of the hood was the most tricky part. I'd say you could get away with using a little touch up paint and then applying the bra afterwards. My car has zero rock chips and looks just as new as the day I bought it up front. And if you buy good vinyl, you can't even tell its there. The pics attached are from the day I had the bra installed, can you spot where the bras edge is?
Wow you put it on well. Curious if it just blends better on the white. My friend had it on red and at angles is was quite noticeable and you could always find the edge at a glance
Touch up paint is supposed to cure for like a week isn't it? I wouldn't rush that. Might not dry right or it can shrink and then you'd have to rip the bra off to fix it.
I'm sure your right. I'm gonna touch it up tomorrow and park it for a week and drive my beater.
