The torsen is a pretty durable diff. No clutch pack it uses helical gears that sense when one tire is losing traction, its really a road race diff or auto cross. Not sure what the drag guys use but its a pretty strong unit. I would see if someone here on forum has launched with one and broke it.
I've read that it's not recommended for drag strip use but I can't seem to find the supporting link.
A lot of people use them in drag applications with good results but it's hard to say what could happen in the long run. Launching with those tires on a Torsen? Not sure that I would.
Not recommended for drag use based on a number of results I found googling. Some people have used them with modified cars and they hold up though based on what I'm seeing in other forums.
