I've been reading other posts and stuff hearing you can put an IRS exhaust set up on a straight axle. So would I be a me to buy a IRS exhaust set up off AM and bolt it up?

Yes.

You have to customize hangers though.

Mine is currently off for suspension work. I'll take a pic or two of the install.

In both cases the exhaust is going to be the exact same height off the ground.

U can but if you try to put it on a lift the axle will destroy the exhaust,so you would have to remove the exhaust just to get it on a lift
Takes me thirty seconds to drop my tailpipes. You can still jack enough to change a tire.

So ur tellling me if I run an irs on my sra my exhaust would never be in danger
I have never scraped my tailpipes. The mufflers drag on occasion but hell they're 3" off the ground.

I wasn't talking about the it hitting the ground lol, just the axle raping the pipes, I was always under that impression

Sure, if you jack the body and let the axle droop it will hit the pipes. Being a lowered car I have pieces of wood I drive up on before jacking. That gives me enough space to take the tailpipes off before jacking the car up.

I have never had interference problems between the pipes and rear. If you take a look the swaybar is the lowest point on the rear. My pipes are 1" or so under the swaybar.

Same here I have to drive up on a piece of wood, I've wanting one but have heard of them being messed up, so apparently if your careful you can get them?? I think I'm about to pull the trigger on one now lol, can I get a pic??

That's the only pic I had on my phone. Just finished swapping shocks and springs. I'll snap a few pics putting the tailpipes back on.

Here ya go. Support mufflers. Install tip of exhaust into hanger. Slide pipe onto muffler. Tighten clamps and done. Two bolts and it slides right off.

What about the the tips? Will they work with the stock?
What do you mean? The tip hangers? They are the same across all mustang models. If you have a v6 they will have to be purchased.

That's awesome those were some good pics as well, I really want to do this now
If you need more pics let me know. I got the muffler hangers from autozone, any parts store will have them. Bolted it to the lovely mounts ford provided on either side of the driveshaft.

Just have those as temporary, was making sure there were no issues before welding some hangers in place.

Low...I'm actually raising it some for driveability purposes, that's why I had the exhaust back off. New springs and shocks to raise and give some adjustment on the ride. I just installed BMR 1" drop springs on the back. Going to add an isolator to the H&R Race springs on the front.

What is your setup? I just raised my rear over 1" and still have zero clearance issues. I can put it any height and show you it won't hit.

#34 ·
If you are super lowered you can have issues with the over axle pipes clearing so in this case the IRS exhaust lets you not worry about that. Other than that, no just looks.
