So a guy at work just bought a 2011 v6 camaro and wants to race me bad. All he can see is that he has 300+ hp. I don't trash talk so all i said is id race him at the track only and i cant wait to spank him. He claims with his cai/exhaust/"chip" he is making 395 at the wheels lol. I didnt want to get into it with him about power to weight ratio and how tq wins races, bc he is a tool and you just cant argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience lol. I just want to calmly pull away from him at the track. Anyone with a new edge gt race a pre 2012 v6 camaro.
I'll bet the 4.10's are gonna do the trick.
When you race, sandbag it if you can. Make him feel like he almost had you. So the next time, you can run him for money and then blow his doors off. Lol, I'm KIDDING! That's dirty, don't do that. Lol
The guy that I saw was an older guy and he was a very, very good driver. He was pulling consistent 1.7 - 1.8 60's and no lift shifting the whole way down the track.
I went and talked to him in between his runs. Turns out he is a former multi NHRA / IHRA champion and is a member of UMTR (United Manual Transmission Racers).
Your friend is full of crap. Lmao. I have an 11 V6 automatic mustang with power mods including performance tune, CAI, Long tube ceramic headers, off road x pipe and Flowmaster axle backs. I'm making 297 rwhp. Even if I had a manual transmission I would be a bit over 300 rwhp. There is no way a v6 Camaro is making 395 rwhp on stock motor and bolt on mods. He could have every power bolt on mod to man and never come close to 395 rwhp.
The only chip he has is the one on his shoulder because he regrets not buying a mustang. Lmao. Tell your buddy he full of crap and in fact he ain't even making 395 HP to the crank. Lmao

Yeah pretty much how i feel about it. But like i said there is no arguing with this guy. He wrecked his Chrysler 300 c into a house last week. He has no idea what so ever about cars and is using ridiculous ricer math. I don't think this guy is going to be able to shift or drive on that level lol. Considering that persons level of expertise i don't think those times even count as obtainable by average joe.
I've seen STOCK v6 new edges keep up with 11'+ Camaro STOCK v6...its a weird world. I am not even bsing theres countless videos on youtube also. I would give you a link of mine against my friends RS but so happens we decided not to record that run. I believe you'll be able to take him. He's actually probably making 335ish max (ask him for his dyno sheet next time). They are very heavy also take that into consideration
Thanks bro. The dyno operator installed a pro charger kit on a 3.7 last week. With the other bolt on mods it dyno at 425 to rwhp. That's sweet for a v6 . Lol. Total sleeper car.
I've seen a few 2012 v6s run 14.2s and they were pretty close to stock I would imagine. I know the 2012s have 11 more HP than the 2011s though. I would think with good wheels and tires with a few bolt ons they would break 13s. I think you might be able to beat him if he is a crappy driver.
I've always destroyed v6 camaros in my bolt on 01 GT
Now I really destroy SS camaros in the mach 1
You shouldn't have a problem
