Not a huge departure from the current mustang. The center console has more buttons , but the rest is similar. The steering is really busy with the cruise control lol. No envy from me just yet! Except for push start button. Not a deal breaker, but definitely a cool little featuree
People have been saying for months that the 2015 really isn't as different as everyone is thinking. It's more of an evolution then a whole new generation. The jump from the 5G to the 6G will be smaller than other jumps in the past, mainly because a lot of people (me included) are very happy with the current look, and they don't want to stray to far from it.
Hasn't really been a muscle car since 1973. The only thing arguably retro muscle car about it is the live axle and it's what most people spend their time whining about on here. I'm all for change. Besides, the beauty of a mustang is you don't need to own a new one to love one. No one will ever look back and say they wish they still had their 96 Taurus , but some will look fondly on their 96 cobra, just as they close the garage door behind it .
The paddle shifters will most likely be the automatic transmission . It's a variety of tiptronic style trannies with fake paddle shifters. Real dual clutched magnesium paddle shifter style transmission are really expensive and were nowhere near close to a time where they will be common. Most likely there will be 6 speed manual, a 6/7 auto with paddle shifter option. I could be talking out of my butt here, but either way, what's the big deal? I don't drive auto , so it doesn't affect me in the least.
The more I see this Mustang, the more I like it. But, unless I can afford the GT, with my 2013 as a trade in, I won't get one. I would see what parts are interchangeable, because I would want to keep a part if my 1st car, maybe the rear deck lid cap...
That's what they layout will look like, all of the buttons are 3D printed for the mules, the final version will be more put together, it'll look better.
Its possible for them to do all the interior and electronics testing indoors..... It may not look anything like that on the exterior or interior.
